Ko Yao Yai is lined with various beaches that will keep sunseekers happy for days on end. Though the island has few of the wide beaches seen in nearby Phuket, some pretty stretches of soft white sand are to be found here.

Swimmers take note that most bays on Yao Yai drain into mudflats at low tide, so you’ll need to time your visits carefully if you’re hoping to take a dip in the sea. But regardless of when you go, there’s a good chance of having the beach all to yourself, and the views out across Phang Nga Bay are fantastic.

The relatively little-known island of Miyakojima in Okinawa is home to Yonaha Maehama Beach, a pristine 7-kilometer stretch of shoreline ranked among the best sandy beaches in Japan. Yonaha Maehama Beach is most popular from the spring through the autumn and is the main attraction on Miyako Island. The beach hosts the swimming section of an annual "Strongman" triathlon at the end of April.

Pom Pom Island is a small coral reef island in the Celebes Sea approximately 30 kilometers northeast of Semporna town, Sabah, East Malaysia.

The island is 2.3 kilometers in circumference at the high tide line with a fringing coral reef 4 kilometers long. The island is flat sand with a maximum elevation of fewer than 2 meters above the HT line. The reef flat is only 50–75 meters wide to the west and several hundred meters wide around most of the island.

The island has a white sand coral beach and is a significant nesting location site for green and hawksbill turtles. Relatively undeveloped, the island is one of the most popular dive destinations in the Semporna district.
