On Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, the Embassy of Germany in Indonesia hosted the Day of German Unity at Kempinski, Jakarta. Alongside the opening remarks by Her Excellency Ms. Ina Lepel, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Indonesia, ASEAN, and Timor-Leste, the Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto, represented the Indonesian government at the invitation of the German Embassy in Jakarta and delivered a special address to mark the Day of German Unity.

In his welcoming speech, Minister Prabowo extended heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Indonesian government and its people to the Federal Republic of Germany and the entire German nation on their National Day. This gesture underscored the deep-rooted friendship and mutual respect between the two countries.

Minister Prabowo emphasized the long-standing and robust relationship that has developed between Indonesia and Germany over the years. He highlighted the active participation of German businesses in Indonesia's economy, which has significantly contributed to its growth and development. Furthermore, the Minister stressed that this collaboration extends beyond economic ties, as the German government has made substantial contributions to Indonesia's infrastructure development, emphasizing the importance of technical cooperation.
