If you’ve ever dreamed of visiting Bali without fighting through endless crowds, here’s your golden chance. The high season—June to August—has officially ended, and the island is slipping into its rare low-season rhythm. That means quieter beaches, cheaper hotel deals, and temple visits without a thousand selfie sticks blocking the view.

Take Ulun Danu Beratan Temple in Bedugul, for example. Normally buzzing with tourists, it’s now welcoming less than half the usual visitors. “International arrivals usually reach 1,500 per day, but now there are only around 700,” revealed Wayan Musika, the temple’s director. Even domestic tourism has dropped, with numbers down from 500 to just 250 daily. The result? A serene temple experience on the shores of Lake Beratan, without the shoulder-to-shoulder shuffle.

And it’s not just Bedugul. Denpasar, Bali’s capital, has also seen a dip in traffic at its top attractions. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing happening—in fact, the city is ramping up its promotions to highlight its thriving food, coffee, and live music scenes. Imagine sipping on craft coffee before heading to a budget-friendly art or music event, all without the long queues.

Meanwhile, Bangli Regency—home to the famously Instagrammable Penglipuran Village—is urging travelers to explore its quiet beauty. While political demonstrations in Bali’s capital sparked some concerns, local officials insist the island’s cultural heartlands remain perfectly safe and are eager to welcome more visitors.

So, why wait until the Christmas and New Year holidays when Bali will be flooded with a million tourists again? If you want the island at its most relaxed and affordable, September to December is your sweet spot. Less crowd, more culture, and way better vibes.
