SNAPCHAT X OFF-WHITE LAUNCHED LENS AUGMENTED REALITY
American designer Virgil Abloh collaborates with messaging app Snapchat to create iconic virtual facemasks.
Living in pandemic time, wearing a face mask is mandatory. In tackling the 'new normal' trends, multimedia messaging app Snapchat and Off-White, a fashion label founded by American designer Virgil Abloh, released Lens Augmented Reality experience on March 31st, which becomes the beginning of a collaboration series in 2021.
Snapchat and Virgil work as a team to create Lens for Snapchatters so they can try iconic three face masks virtually. These face masks, called AR Off-White are inspired by the SS21 collection and can be purchased directly at Off--White.com.
This AR Lens is developed as a virtual campaign for Snapchatters to keep wearing a face mask attractively and creatively, which aims to protect themselves and others around during COVID-19 pandemic. Snapchat always prioritizes the health and safety of its customers by giving Snapchatters to wear Off-White face masks provided in their Bitmoji Selfies to bridge how they express themselves in digital and real life.
