RESULTS OF INDONESIA BADMINTON FESTIVAL 2021
Indonesia has successfully hosted an international badminton festival
Several interesting results came out of the Indonesia Badminton Festival 2021, which ended on December 5, 2021.
The Indonesia Badminton Festival 2021 is a series of three badminton matches held in Nusa Dua Bali, including the Indonesia Masters, Indonesia Open, and the 2021 BWF World Tour Finals.
An exciting presentation came from the men's doubles division. The Indonesian men's doubles pair, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, were involved in a trilogy duel with representatives of Japan, Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi, in three consecutive finals.
The first meeting of Marcus/Kevin vs. Hockey/Kobayashi in Bali took place in the final of the Indonesia Masters 2021, Sunday (11/21/2021). At that time, Marcus/Kevin lost to Hoki/Kobayashi in a rubber game with the positions 11-21, 21-17, and 19-21.

A week later, the two pairs met again in the final round of the Indonesia Open 2021, Sunday (11/28/2021). In the second meeting, The Minions — a nickname for the Marcus/Kevin pair — succeeded in avenging the defeat and sealing the title of the Indonesia Open 2021. The Minions appeared brilliantly by crushing Hoki/Kobayashi in two straight games with 21-14 and 21-18.
Unfortunately, Marcus/Kevin had to settle for runners-up again in the third final, namely the BWF World Tour Finals 2021 yesterday, Sunday (5/12/2021). Marcus/Kevin again gave up the lead after losing the rubber game to Hoki/Kobayashi with a score of 16-21, 21-13, and 17-21.
Meanwhile, the Thai mixed doubles pair Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai and the South Korean women's singles player, An Se-young. Dechapol/Sapsiree and An Se-young performed magnificently in the championships. They managed to snatch three championship titles at the tournament.
The last match Sunday (5/12/2021) was won Dechapol/Sapsiree won the BWF World Tour Finals 2021 event after beating Japan's representatives, Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino, with a score of 21-19 and 21-11.

Meanwhile, An Se-young perfected her third title after subverting the impressive performance of the representative of India, Pusarla Venkata Sindhu, with a position of 21-16 and 21-12.
"It's nice to be able to reap a successful hat-trick here. This victory is an increase in my achievement. Every player must have their own difficulties. Must have the ability and preparation to perform best," said An Se-young.
Meanwhile, the Japanese women's doubles pair, Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida, failed to score a hat-trick for the title after being defeated by representatives of South Korea, Kim Soyeong/Kong Heeyong in the final match of the BWF World Tour Finals 2021.
Despite some setbacks for the Japanese representatives, they were the most successful contingent — winning five titles at the Indonesia Badminton Festival 2021. At the Indonesia Masters 2021 alone, Japan dominated by winning three titles, each won by Kento Momota (men's singles sector), Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi (men's doubles), and Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida (women's doubles).
A week later, Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida again won the Indonesia Open 2021. Finally, Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi won their second victory over Marcus/Kevin at the BWF World Tour Finals 2021.
