NEW WAY TO INVEST, OLD LEGO TOYS
Old Legos are worth more. One of the candidates may be the newest Lego Technic BMW M 1000 RR
When it comes to investing, most people will put money aside to buy stocks, real estate, bonds, or gold. However, according to a recent study, it was shown that the best investment is not gold or equities. The solution: Lego building blocks.
Associate professor Victoria Dobrynskaya of HSE University in Moscow, Russia, led the research. Researchers examined almost 2,300 different Lego sets published between 1987 and 2015. They discovered that the market value of used Legos increased by 10-11 percent per year, outperforming gold, stocks, bonds, stamps, and even wine.
According to the survey, the price of Lego sets on the secondary market fluctuates between -50 and +600 percent per year. Thematic Lego sets based on pop culture, holidays, and iconic places are in high demand. Furthermore, high-priced Lego toy sets include the Millennium Falcon, Death Star II, and Imperial Star Destroyer (all from Star Wars), as well as the Cafe on the Corner and Taj Mahal.

The study identifies three major explanations for the fast increase in the price of Lego kits. For starters, limited-edition Lego sets are in more demand, especially if the toy sets are based on popular symbols or movies. Furthermore, when some Lego sets are no longer manufactured, the quantity of sets available on the secondary market is relatively minimal.
Collectors or owners of out-of-production Lego sets are hesitant to sell their toys, or they may not perceive the value of the toys and discard them. Finally, the average Lego fan is now a financially self-sufficient adult. Lego aficionados may now spend their money on their favorite Lego items.
"Not all Lego sets are equally popular. To understand the complexities of the market and perceive the potential investment in a specific toy set, one must be a true Lego fan, "Dobrynskaya stated.

Lego BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR
The Lego Technic BMW M 1000 RR, abbreviated as M RR, is one of the collections that will be available in 2022. On January 1, 2022, Lego will go on sale. This elaborate set delivers to people's living rooms the greatest racing technology of the 156 kW (212 hp) superbike, which is designed to fulfill the highest performance demands in race and road use.
The record number of 1,920 distinct LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR parts and the impressive 1:5 scale indicate that the 45.5 cm long LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR is a model motorcycle in its own right. In addition to rigorous attention to mechanical aspects, the model version of the M RR includes a variety of features that will appeal to model builders and motorcycle enthusiasts alike.
The three-speed gearbox, the upside-down fork, and the rear swingarm with suspension are all completely functional, as is the dashboard with three distinct display options and the gold-colored drive chain. The incorporated paddock stand and pit board lend authenticity to the racing experience.
"When the management of BMW Motorrad revealed the first M model on two wheels, the BMW M 1000 RR, everyone knew it would be something exceptional," says Ralf Rodepeter, Head of Marketing and Product Management at BMW Motorrad. Similarly, the LEGO Technic team realized they wanted to create something unprecedented to honor the M RR. As a result, a motorcycle and a technical model represent the cutting edge in their respective professions."
The LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR continues BMW Motorrad and LEGO's successful cooperation by giving fans the opportunity to create BMW Motorrad's first model M motorcycle, which, like its real-life counterpart, stands for technological perfection and attention to detail.
"It's been so much pleasure going below the shell of such an important model for BMW Motorrad," said LEGO Group designer Samuel Tacchi. There's a reason why these superbly designed bikes are so well-liked by the biking world, and we're convinced our LEGO Technic version will be a hit much like its real-life counterpart."
