The KickYourButt Project (KYBPROJECT), an innovative initiative by ONX IDEA STUDIO (ONX STUDIO), a design studio under PT Ide Dua Cipta, is making waves in the creative industry by transforming discarded cigarette butts into valuable biopolymer materials. These materials are not only flexible and versatile for creative use but also contribute to less waste movement, fostering sustainability in design.

Originally established in 2019 to meet the sustainable material needs of ONX STUDIO, which specializes in designing products, installations, and art, KYBPROJECT has evolved over time to recognize the broader potential of its creations within the creative and sustainability-conscious communities.

KYBPROJECT's research and development efforts have led to the creation of raw materials like CellaPowder, CellaFlakes, and CellaBoard. The team at KYBPROJECT meticulously studied the characteristics of each waste material and determined the suitability of these materials for different finished products. Rigorous testing ensures that the products created by KYBPROJECT are safe and suitable for everyday use.

Through KYBPROJECT, ONX STUDIO seeks to expand its influence in driving positive change and raising awareness about the importance of sustainability in design. Rony Rahardian, Initiator and Co-founder of KYBPROJECT, emphasized, "We hope to inspire more people to see the hidden potential in items that are no longer in use and to make sustainability an integral part of the design world."

KYBPROJECT has established four key pillars to expand its movement: Waste Collection (Collect), Research & Development (Research), Design (Design), and Production (Produce). This initiative invites both the general public and industries with shared values and interests to join their journey toward a more sustainable future. To enhance knowledge and promote the use of their materials, KYBPROJECT collaborates with partners and occasionally conducts Circular Day, a series of workshops and talk sessions. Present collaborators include Pala Nusantara, Kopi Nako Daur Baur, Nike, and Manual.id.

In the future, ONX STUDIO plans to establish partnerships with more companies and communities to scale up the adoption of KYBPROJECT's biopolymer materials. This creative initiative is a testament to the power of innovation and sustainability in transforming waste into valuable resources for a better and greener future.
