Peggy Hartanto is an Indonesian fashion designer who was born and raised in Surabaya, Indonesia. Peggy took her studies at Raffles College of Design and Commerce in Sydney, Australia. She graduated back in 2009 with honors. She briefly worked at Australia's fashion brand, Collette Dinnigan, before eventually moving back to her hometown to start her own fashion empire. 

Along with her two sisters, Lydia Hartanto and Petty Hartanto, Peggy started her own label with her own name, Peggy Hartanto, in 2012. Peggy acts as creative director of the brand currently. She defines her label as "bold, chic, and minimalist", without forgetting the feminine style while also highlighting the dynamic and dramatic character. 

Peggy admits that she is fond of "appraising on two different contradictions as well as experimenting with lines, volumes, and balance". The first Peggy Hartanto collection was introduced at the Jakarta Fashion Week. Since then, she gradually gained worldwide attention. 

She has received multiple rewards throughout her career. It includes the 2009 2nd Prize Woven Section, 2010 1st Prize Woven Section, and 2nd Prize Bridal Section by The Australian Wool Fashion Awards, 2013 Asia New Generation Fashion Designer Award by Harper's Bazaar Indonesia, 2014 Her World Young Achiever by Her World Indonesia, 2015 Grazia Next Glam Award Finalist by Grazia International Network, 2016 30 Under 30 'The Arts' by Forbes Asia, 2017 International Woolmark Prize 17/18 Asia Nominee by Woolmark Prize, and several others more.

Celebrities who wore Peggy Hartanto Brand

The ready-to-wear Peggy Hartanto Brand embodies bold colors, clean lines, and aesthetic designs all at once. The label is available at multiple boutiques and online retailers in Asia, the Middle East, and the United Kingdom. Many celebrities laid eyes on Peggy Hartanto's designs. Here are some of them. 

Beyoncé wore the Nageire midi dress with celery green color to the former US President, Barack Obama, 60th birthday. The dress features its boat neck cut that enhances its elegance.

Giuliana Rancic, America's Fashion Police and E! News Presenter also wore Peggy's design and even tweeted about it praising Peggy, saying: "She is amazing".

Another celebrity is Demi Lovato who wore Peggy's Calligraphy midi dress. Detailed with a ripped-slit skirt, Demi wore it on her guest star appearance at the Good Morning America show. 

Other celebrities include Gwen Stefani who wore Peggy's white Mozambique dress on the Ellen DeGeneres show, Gigi Hadid who wore Peggy's black and white jumpsuit at Sports Illustrated party, and Zendaya who wore the white cut-out Ovule dress for her VIBE Vixen photo shoot.
