Buttonscarves Takes Global Fashion by Storm with Debut at Dubai Fashion Week, Showcasing the Lucent Dusk Collection.
Buttonscarves, the Jakarta-based fashion and lifestyle brand, has made a bold and elegant entrance onto the global stage with its debut at Dubai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2025, held on September 5, 2024. This significant milestone strengthens Buttonscarves' position as a leading Indonesian brand making waves in the international fashion scene.
Having already graced major fashion events such as New York Fashion Week A/W 23-24, London Fashion Week S/S 23-24, Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week, and Istanbul Modest Fashion Week, Buttonscarves presented its latest collection, Lucent Dusk, at Dubai Fashion Week. The collection features a sophisticated palette of neutral tones, combining luxurious fabrics like satin, jacquard, tweed, cotton, and organza. Embellished with intricate emboss patterns and bead accents, the collection exudes elegance, epitomizing Buttonscarves’ distinctive aesthetic.
Alongside its stylish apparel, the brand introduced larger versions of its iconic accessories, including the Nina, Mindy, and Beverly Bags. This move showcased Buttonscarves' innovative approach to fashion, highlighting its commitment to pushing boundaries and offering fresh perspectives on style.
Held at Dubai Design District (D3), Dubai Fashion Week S/S 25 drew prominent guests, including the Indonesian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, H.E Husin Bagis, representatives from the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and renowned Indonesian celebrities such as Alyssa Daguise, Putri Marino, and Laura Basuki. Their attendance underscored the growing international presence of Indonesia's fashion industry.
The event also attracted notable figures like Malaysian designer Rizman Ruzaini, Egyptian actress and influencer Rania Yehia, and Norwegian-Somali supermodel Rawdah Mohamed, the first Muslim editor at Vogue Scandinavia. Their presence reinforced Buttonscarves' image as an inclusive and globally relevant brand.
Speaking about this achievement, Linda Anggrea, CEO of Buttonscarves, shared, “Our dream is to bring Buttonscarves to the global stage through the #ButtonscarvesGoesGlobal campaign. By participating in Dubai Fashion Week, we show that creativity and passion know no bounds. Every step we take is part of a long journey to make Buttonscarves a globally recognized brand that inspires and makes Indonesia proud.”
Buttonscarves’ debut in Dubai is part of its broader #ButtonscarvesGoesGlobal campaign. Notably, the brand collaborated with Halima Aden, the world’s first hijabi supermodel, during Istanbul Modest Fashion Week 2024, where she represented The Crown Series collection. These strategic initiatives continue to solidify Buttonscarves' leadership in the global modest fashion industry.
As part of its global expansion strategy, Buttonscarves also unveiled giant bag installations in major fashion hubs like New York, London, Paris, Kuala Lumpur, and Istanbul. These striking installations captured public attention and symbolized the brand’s journey to the world stage, affirming that Indonesian products can compete and succeed globally.
Buttonscarves' debut at Dubai Fashion Week is more than just an international launch; it stands as a testament to Indonesia's growing influence in the global fashion landscape. This success story paves the way for more Indonesian brands to step into the spotlight and contribute to the evolution of the global fashion industry.
