This October, the heartbeat of world gymnastics will echo in Jakarta. Indonesia is officially stepping into the global arena as the host of the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, a milestone event set to take place at the Indonesia Arena from October 19–25.

For the first time, the nation known for its passion and hospitality will welcome over 80 countries and hundreds of elite gymnasts, transforming Jakarta into the epicenter of international sports. The stage is being set not just for breathtaking performances, but for a celebration of unity, resilience, and national pride.

Earlier this week, the excitement began to build as Indonesia’s male gymnastics team held their first training session at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) in Senayan. They shared the floor with athletes from Australia, Denmark, Hong Kong, Venezuela, and Japan, all testing out the new competition apparatus that will soon witness gravity-defying feats.

“It’s a proud moment for us — not just for the athletes, but for Indonesia as a whole,” said Ferrous One Willyodac, head coach of the men’s national team. “The equipment is new, so everyone’s still adjusting. But this event will show the world that Indonesia can stand tall as a global sports host.”

The Indonesian contingent will feature eight gymnasts — five men (Abiyu Raffi, Muhammad Aprizal, Satria Tri Wira Yudha, Agung Suci Tantio Akbar, and Joseph Judah Hatoguan) and three women (Alarice Mallica Prakoso, Salsabilla Hadi Pamungkas, and Larasati Rengganis). Their goal is clear: to perform their best in front of the home crowd and secure Indonesia’s place among the world’s top 20 gymnastics nations.
