WONDERFUL INDONESIA COLLABORATES WITH GRESINI RACING FOR MOTOGP

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy snatched the chance to promote Indonesian tourism by slapping the Wonderful Indonesia logo on Gresini Racing's Ducatis.

All eyes are fixed on Mandalika's new state-of-the-art circuit. Taking advantage of this opportunity to promote Indonesian tourism, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Agency for Tourism and Creative Economy agreed to cooperate with the racing team that will compete in the 2022 MotoGP event, namely Gresini Racing.

Gresini Racing MotoGP is a Ducati satellite motorcycle racing team currently competing in the MotoGP World Championship. It also competes in the Moto2 World Championship as Team Gresini Moto2, in the MotoE World Cup as Felo Gresini Team, as well as in CIV Moto3.

The team was founded in 1997 by the late two-time 125cc world champion Fausto Gresini after his retirement. The team is currently under the supervision of his widow Nadia Padovani after he passed away in 2021 due to COVID-19.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy and Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, explained that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy appreciated the collaboration with Gresini Racing.

"With this collaboration, especially the exposure of MotoGP lovers, I believe that exposing some of Indonesia's top brands at the global level will expand the brand's market reach from a national to an international scale and contribute to the pride of the nation," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Wonderful Indonesia logo to appear on Ducati winglets
The collaboration is expected to be an event to promote Indonesian tourism so that it can bounce back in the midst of a pandemic with an emphasis on the Wonderful Indonesia brand. It aims to promote Indonesian tourism to improve tourism performance and the creative economy to support the economic revival in Indonesia.

This partnership also marks the return of MotoGP to Indonesia since the last time in 1997. Indonesia itself will host the second MotoGP series, which is planned to be held at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, in mid-March 2022.

"Therefore, with this collaboration, the branding image of tourism and national industry players can be widely known globally," said Menparekraf Sandiaga.

The iconic Wonderful Indonesia logo is also pasted on Gresini Racing's Desmosedici GP racing motorbike in this season's competition. The logo will be seen on the front wing or winglet of Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio's Gresini Racing's Ducati motorcycles.

Enea Bastianini, who previously won the 2020 Moto2 World Championship, is a 24-year old Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer nicknamed "La Bestia" or "The Beast". He rides for Gresini Racing MotoGP in MotoGP class using bike number 23. Meanwhile, Fabio Di Giannantonio is a 23-year-old Italian motorcycle racer who recently dominated the Moto2 Spanish Grand Prix and claimed his maiden win in the intermediate class.
