The Hari Hong Kong Hotel has just been awarded the "Best Upscale Hotel" by Hospitality Design magazine in its 17th Annual HD Award. This award is one of the most prestigious awards in the hospitality and design industry.

The award, which was received in conjunction with The Day Hong Kong's first-anniversary celebration, was given on  September 20, 2021, at Cipriani South Street, New York.

The Hari Hong Kong Hotel opened in December 2020 and offered modern luxury, an aura of social dynamism as well as a commercial pulse bridge in the Causeway Bay area to the creative design area of ​​Wan Chai.

Like its sister in Belgravia, London, The Hari Hong Kong is built around an area that offers the best of service from the Harilela family. The Hari creates a personal touch for the guest and pays attention to detail.

The 30-story hotel comprises 210 guest rooms, including three signature rooftop suites showcasing a layered approach to the design created by Tara Bernerd, the Founder and CEO of Tara Bernerd & Partners, a leading international interior architecture and design practice based in London. The Hari Hong Kong's stylistic inclinations resonate strongly through a design manifestation of Dr. Harilela's vision as seen through Bernerd's eyes, taking inspiration from Dr. Harilela's layered tailoring to create the brand's DNA and materialize an evocative aesthetic to complement the guest experience.

"It was such a thrill and an honor that The Hari Hong Kong won the Hospitality Design Award for Best Upscale Hotel. As our first hotel in Hong Kong, the project is very dear to me. Having helped originate the design DNA for The Hari hotel brand in London, it was exciting to bring the brand home to Hong Kong. We encapsulated the layered, colorful history of Wan Chai, whilst bringing a touch of London attitude to the neighborhood. It was a joy to work again with Dr. Aron Harilela, who is not only a valued client, but also a dear friend," said Tara Bernerd.

Bernerd added a touch of luxury to The Hari Hong Kong rooms, such as timber paneling, natural linen wallpaper, and plush velvet upholstery. Antique brass Crittal doors separate the marble bathrooms from the hotel rooms and suites with views overlooking Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, The Peak, and Victoria Harbour.

The dining business is also given a luxurious touch. With innovative yet timeless Japanese dining at Zoku Restaurant & Terrace and traditional Italian cuisine at Lucciola Restaurant & Bar, there is something for everyone at The Hari Hong Kong. Zoku also boasts a large terrace bar offering panoramic views over Wan Chai, ideal for hosting morning coffee meetings or enjoying an after-work drink. Opening in December 2020, The Hari Hong Kong is the vision of Dr. Aron Harilela, Chairman and CEO of Harilela Hotels Ltd, and the second hotel to open under the 'The Hari' brand. The first hotel, The Hari London, opened in August 2016. The Harilela Group was established in 1959 and is still wholly owned by the Harilela family.
