Rapper Pharrell Williams has had a noticeable impact on the things we wear and how we wear them From the early 2000s to the present. What distinguishes Pharrell is his influence on not only streetwear (as is customary for producers and rappers) but also fashion and, one might say, design in general.

Now, he's back at it with longtime collaborator Adidas.

Williams' first collaboration with Adidas was in 2014 when he produced a spare collection of modified Stan Smiths and the Superstar zip-up jacket. He's published over a dozen collaboration pieces up to this moment. Williams and Adidas partnered with the Ethical Fashion Initiative in 2019 to offer a limited-edition series of redesigned track jackets.

The Ethical Fashion Initiative is an organization that connects craftspeople from emerging nations to the worldwide value chain of fashion. The jackets are embellished with repurposed brass trim manufactured by metal craftsmen in Nairobi, Kenya, and the three stripes are embellished with beading made by the city's artisans.

In an interview, Williams stated that his fascination with Adidas began when he was a child in his hometown of Virginia Beach in the 1980s. He initially saw the company's footwear on the street before hearing Run DMC's song "My Adidas".

Originals
The Adidas Originals Pharrell Williams collaboration, which debuted in 2014, is a continuation of Pharrell's desire to connect people through love, passion, and energy as a celebration of humanity.

In time for the winter season, they have returned to their Premium Basics line, developing a variety of everyday basics. The collection includes both apparel and footwear, with an emphasis on high quality and eye-catching color.

Three new colorways of the Pharrell Williams x Adidas Adilette 2.0 Sandals complement the comfort-focused apparel. The sandal is available in "Halo Green," "Off-White," and "Core Black," with a structured mesh top, cushioned ankle strap, and contoured footbed.

Hu NMD
The NMD Human Race, or NMD Hu for short, was created in partnership with Pharrell Williams and debuted in July 2016. The "Yellow" colorway, embroidered with "HUMAN RACE" across the top, was the first to be released, and it remains one of the most sought-after tints to this day.

Adidas Originals and Pharrell have also unveiled the second colorway of their three-part Hu NMD drop honoring Billionaire Boys Club (BBC), launched on December 21 via the Confirmed app and selected retailers.

The upper is made of ribbed material and has the new color palette of khaki green and earthy tones. The enhanced BBC running dog emblem is sewn onto the top, with transparent caging on the sides. The heel tab, which displays "ICECREAM" logo, comes with a chocolate brown color.

The inside quarter of the NMD is black, while the BOOST midsole and outsole are white and beige, respectively. The black laces on the sneaker may be replaced with a blue version, creating contrast while complementing the existing color scheme.

BBC is a worldwide known apparel, accessories, and lifestyle company launched in 2003 by Pharrell Williams and Nigo, whose combination of streetwear and luxury has affected fashion, music, design, and culture. As the brand evolves to pioneer and define fashion, it creates a world that includes ICECREAM, Bee Line, and Billionaire Girls Club.

The brand's DNA is powered by Pharrell's aspirational motto and their brand tagline, "Wealth is of the heart and mind. Not the pocket".
