In less than 24 hours, the European league transfer market on Friday (27/8/2021) was shocked by the transfer of the superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal national player does not want to extend his contract with the Juventus club.

A few hours later, Ronaldo was officially announced to return to Manchester United. That's right. United finally got Ronaldo back. Social media exploded with this news. Around 2.5 million people tweeted information about Ronaldo, welcoming United's new chapter on the Premier League stage.

The news of Ronaldo's move seemed to make football fans not rest. Recently, news of Lionel Messi's move from Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain colored the broadcast room. Now Ronaldo, often juxtaposed with Messi as an eternal rival, moved to United without a difficult process.

Previously, Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo's agent, reported that his side offered the player to Manchester City, United's rival club. But in its development, City never once made an official offer to woo Ronaldo.

Even though City is reportedly failing to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, City is indeed looking for a striker after Kun Aguero left for Barcelona.

United, who heard this news, immediately prepared an official offer to bring home their megastar. Sir Alex Ferguson's era would not be the same without CR7, Ronaldo's nickname, who managed to get United to its heyday from 2003 to 2009.

Ronaldo, who is now 36 years old, moved to United for £24 million or around Rp 474 billion. A number that is relatively cheap to get the services of the five Ballon d'Or winner.

Confirmation of Ronaldo's arrival was carried out relatively quickly by United. Unlike the transfer match of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, Ronaldo's arrival was immediately reported by United through their social media accounts.

Besides City, Ronaldo was also reportedly targeted by PSG some time ago. However, this news was denied by the club's owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi that football fans' dream to see Messi and Ronaldo as one club would never come true.

Friday morning, Ronaldo had said goodbye to his colleagues at Juventus. Confirmation from the coach Massimiliano Allegri made the news of Ronaldo's transfer rolling uncertain.

United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer later revealed that he did not think Ronaldo would leave Juventus. But if he were to move from the Italian club, United would always be there for him.

The turning point for Ronaldo's clarity came from Sir Alex Ferguson. Ronaldo's former coach reportedly immediately contacted his former team to convince Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford. Eventually, the deal happened, and United announced the return of Ronaldo.

The news of Ronaldo's return was immediately responded to by the Red Devils and former players. Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra communicated with Ronaldo last minute that he reported he would be back. United players tweeted their welcome to Ronaldo.

Hopefully, this will be the beginning of United's rise on the stage of European competition and the Premier League. United in recent seasons seems to have difficulty keeping up with the appearance of city rivals Manchester City and eternal rivals Liverpool who won trophies in several championships.
