COCOTEL PARTNERS WITH ARCHIPELAGO TO REACH MAJOR HOTELS
Founded in 2018, COCOTEL helps independent hotels and resorts in attractive destinations by increasing their visibility online through the use of technology, digital marketing and operations.
COCOTEL Hotels & Resorts, an aggregator of property management and hotel technology, partners with Archipelago International, Southeast Asia's largest private and independent hotel management group, to reach the major hotels that need their services.
Founded in 2018, COCOTEL helps independent hotels and resorts in attractive destinations by increasing their visibility online through the use of technology, digital marketing and operations. Today, the company is the largest holiday hotel chain in the Philippines with more than 75 hotels in two countries.
COCOTEL services can work flawlessly in small, independent hotels and resorts, but managing larger properties requires complex but easy-to-navigate systems and expertise. In order to that, COCOTEL partnered with Archipelago International for their latest hotel technology - Powered by ARCHIPELAGO (PbA), to maintain its ambition to recruit bigger players.
Powered by ARCHIPELAGO is a service to help accommodation companies drive business and put them ahead of the competition by providing the right resources (team, tools, systems and expertise) through an all-inclusive plug-and-play solution. This helps hotels identify missed opportunities, whether in distribution, connectivity or customer service and creates strategies that will streamline processes and generate more revenue. The name varies according to the brand under the Archipelago umbrella.
With the help of this customized technology, COCOTEL will gain the ability to add more hotels and operate their properties like a hotel chain.
“We see COCOTEL and Archipelago have the same vision, which is to help independent hotels and resorts. We see a lot of synergies and advocacy in common with us. As we are a relatively young company, the PbA team guided us on how we can run our business like a hotel chain,” said Rafael Jouwena, Co-founder and CEO of COCOTEL.
Rafael added, “Our goal is to become the largest holiday hotel chain in Asia Pacific. We are targeting 120 hotels to join COCOTEL this year. Next year, we will focus on our international expansion in Australia. With the help of Archipelago, we believe that we will get at least 500 hotels in 4 countries to join COCOTEL by 2025.”
The following properties are currently supported by the partnership:

● Pier Uno Drive Resort by COCOTEL Powered by fave

“It is an honor to partner with COCOTEL Hotels & Resorts and empower one of the most innovative hospitality companies in the Philippines. We know very well the struggles of small hotels fighting against big names because that is our story. We are looking forward to this partnership and will offer them the support they need to grow and succeed,” said Chris Legaspi, Vice President Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management.
