From Early Dreams to Broadway

Adit Marciano's love for musical theater took root early. "From elementary through high school, I was immersed in school productions," Adit shared. These included classic Western musicals like "The Wizard of Oz" and "Peter Pan," alongside Indonesian adaptations such as "Malin Kundang" and "Bawang Merah Bawang Putih." At the age of 15, Adit pursued his dreams further by enrolling in a summer program at Camp Broadway in New York. "That program changed my life," Adit revealed, describing how it enhanced his performing skills and boosted his confidence. This experience was pivotal, reinforcing his commitment to a career in theater.

Academic and Professional Achievements

Adit's quest for excellence led him to the Chicago College of Performing Arts, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. His post-graduation years in Chicago were marked by diverse roles in theater, advertising, and modeling, facilitated by a supportive agency. In 2022, Adit reconnected with Susan Lee of Camp Broadway, advocating to establish the program in Indonesia. This initiative culminated in an MOU signed at the Indonesian Consulate in New York, formalizing the partnership under Asa Pentas Mahakarya.

Merging Cultures: A Unique Artistic Mission

Adit’s vision for Camp Broadway Indonesia is ambitious: to fuse Western Broadway standards with the rich cultural tapestry of Indonesia. "Our benchmark is Broadway, but our heart is Indonesian," Adit emphasized. Under his leadership, Camp Broadway Indonesia has achieved significant milestones. Students have performed at prestigious events such as The New York Pops Birthday Gala at Carnegie Hall and the Summer Camp Main Stage Jakarta 2023, which featured instruction from Broadway professionals.

Overcoming Challenges and Setting Aspirations

Launching Camp Broadway Indonesia came with its challenges. Adit and his team had to convince local senior artists and government officials of the vital role arts education plays alongside traditional academics.
