The Netflix original series Emily in Paris has released its first-ever fashion collection. The ultra-kitschy and colorful flick created the garments in partnership with Turkish label My Beachy Side for true fans and basically anyone who would like to imitate the main character’s quintessentially bold style.

“Emily’s fashion sense is unapologetic and original with a sense of humor. She is only interested in being herself and maintaining her individuality,” creator Darren Star said in an interview with Vogue.

“A season two storyline presented us with an opportunity for an organic partnership with My Beachy Side, whose collection captures the relaxed glamor and joie de vivre of the south of France. It expresses an entirely different look for our characters –vacation chic."

The collaboration captures the decadence of looks from the self-assured woman to put her own spin on the classic French girl style, giving the constant vibe of "balmy nights on vacation".

The effervescent and joyful capsule collection includes a socially responsible component as My Beachy Side is a no-waste brand. Led by female artisans who have limited access to economic opportunities, founder Gamze Ates refers to her colleagues as “true artisans.”

For the non-devotees
Just in case you haven't watched the show, Emily in Paris is an American comedy-drama streaming television series created by Star, starring Lily Collins as the titular character, Emily Cooper.  Star is previously known for his Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990–2000), Melrose Place (1992–1999), Sex and the City (1998–2004).

Season 1 was premiered on Netflix on October 2, 2020, revolving around a very-American Emily who moved to Paris to provide an American point of view to a French marketing firm named Savoir. Struggling with culture clash as her Midwestern U.S. upbringing doesn't sit well with the "liberté, egalite, fraternité" social style, Emily managed to spice up her days in Paris with friendship and love predicaments.

Despite her enthusiasm, Emily has no knowledge of the French language or customs, inviting instant criticism from her peers. Her hustle culture tendency, such as arriving places early and never not working, is also part of her that her colleagues find annoying.

Emily was also initially determined to remain in a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend Doug who stayed in Chicago. Alas, they break up not long after her move, due to the fact that her boyfriend wasn’t willing to leave Chicago to visit her in Paris.

Emily soon found herself falling for her neighbor and local chef, Gabriel, before finding out that he was dating her close friend Camille. Gabriel decided to move to Normandy as his restaurant in Paris is going through a financial crisis.

Season 2 of the series was premiered in December 2022 exclusively, promising more tension between Emily's small Paris circle. Sneak a peek at the trailer and head to Netflix to get that drama dose.

And the collection?
The environmentally conscious Parisian Resort 22 collection, packed full of clean-cut 20s sensibilities resort wear, is boasting a somewhat patriotic color palette and plenty of nautical references. It subtly taps into the clashing of cultures within the show whilst ensuring that each piece is Riviera-ready.

“We were inspired by the show, which really showcases the power of fashion and the power of women, so it was a natural fit for us," said Ates. "The show is so widely-loved it seemed like a great opportunity to give a voice to what we do – we believe in the power of fashion to change the world and our mission is creating sustainable jobs, cultivating local economy, empowering disadvantaged women and refugees without sacrificing style.”

Embodying sun-soaked summers in the South of France, seaside-inspired crochet bralettes and fringed ocean-hued maxi dresses are hand-knitted or crocheted available for purchase on My Beachy Side’s website.
