SugarSand, nestled along the pristine shores of Seminyak, Bali, has established itself as a popular beachfront dining haven, renowned for its breathtaking ocean vistas and vibrant ambiance. Since its inception in September 2018, SugarSand has undergone a remarkable transformation, unveiling an all-new menu for lunch, dinner, and cocktails. Embracing the spirit of a Japanese neighborhood eatery, the restaurant offers contemporary Japanese cuisine in the renowned Izakaya style.

Drawing inspiration from the rich tapestry of Balinese culture, SugarSand's design harmoniously blends intricate details reminiscent of the jukung, a traditional Balinese boat, with the elegant simplicity of Japanese aesthetics. The venue spans two levels, with an inviting infinity pool and communal area on the first floor, offering guests a space to unwind and savor the sea breeze. On the second floor, an open-air lounge provides panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, creating an idyllic backdrop for relaxation and intimate gatherings.

At the helm of SugarSand's kitchen is Chef Syamsul Rizal, a culinary virtuoso with a wealth of experience. Chef Syamsul Rizal, who sharpened his culinary skills at establishments like Nobu, joined SugarSand last year, bringing a global culinary perspective to the restaurant. His impressive career has seen him navigate the kitchens of international cruise liners, renowned hotel chains, and top-notch restaurants in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Morocco, and more. Notably, he contributed his talents to Miami's award-winning restaurant Nobu and Dubai's iconic Zuma.

SugarSand aims to be a sanctuary for connoisseurs of fine cuisine, music, culture, relaxation, and celebration. By day, guests can savor a diverse array of Japanese delicacies, including Wagyu Gyoza, Chicken Katsu Sandwich, Tacos 3 Way, and a selection of delectable sushi. As the sun sets, SugarSand transitions into an inviting Izakaya concept, offering an eclectic menu featuring dishes such as Gindara Miso, Spicy Tuna Sushi, and The Kiwami Wagyu Bollar Blade.

Complementing the culinary offerings, SugarSand's innovative Balixologists, led by head mixologist Dewa Ari, craft a tantalizing selection of cocktails. Guests can explore the "homage to Japanese cocktail culture" series, which pays tribute to Japan-inspired cocktails, or choose from a curated lineup of signature cocktails that have been cherished since the restaurant's inception. Additionally, SugarSand introduces Slow Cooked Infused G&Ts, adding a unique twist to the casual drinking experience.

To elevate the atmosphere, SugarSand features a curated selection of chill music mixed by in-house DJs, fostering the perfect environment for socializing and mingling. The restaurant aspires to be a sanctuary where patrons can relish fine cuisine, exquisite beverages, music, culture, and celebrate memorable moments against the backdrop of a stunning beachfront setting. SugarSand invites you to experience the fusion of Japanese culinary excellence and Balinese charm in a tropical paradise.
