TL;DR?

  • Poland and Indonesia are tightening economic ties in a big way
  • Over USD 9.3B in investment is fueling new jobs and startup opportunities
  • Key growth areas: tech, pharma, creative, energy, tourism
  • Youth-focused partnerships and education programs are on the rise
  • This might be your moment to go global

What if the next big career opportunity wasn’t in your own backyard—but halfway across the world?

That was the energy at the “Growing Opportunities in Economic Cooperation” business forum held in Gdańsk, Poland, where nearly 170 participants and 40 companies from sectors like food, tech, transport, construction, pharma, and shipbuilding gathered to talk one thing: the future. But the real headline? This isn’t just a room for CEOs and suits—it’s a window of opportunity for youth, creatives, tech talents, and future entrepreneurs.

Hosted by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and the Embassy of Indonesia in Warsaw (KBRI Warsawa), the forum was part of the 70th anniversary celebration of Indonesia–Poland diplomatic relations. But behind the formality lies a very real opportunity—especially if you’re young, ambitious, and eyeing a career that crosses borders.

“We don’t just see Indonesia as a location—we believe in it,” said Cezary Filipek, PAIH Director in Indonesia. “It’s the heart of ASEAN. It’s where businesses should be.”

And it’s not just talk. Poland’s investment in Indonesia exploded from 134 projects in 2023 to 393 in 2024, totaling USD 9.3 billion. If you’ve been dreaming about working in international business, launching a startup, or joining a global company in sectors like tech, pharma, creative industries, tourism, or renewable energy—you might want to start polishing that CV.

“When friendship grows, business follows,” Filipek added, highlighting how personal connections drive global partnerships. And young talent? That’s the human capital everyone wants next.

Why It Matters for You
This forum wasn’t about paperwork. It was about people meeting, sharing ideas, and spotting real career potential. The presence of Minister of Culture Fadli Zon and Bali Governor Wayan Koster further shows how both countries are looking at the next generation—from creative industries to vocational education—as the future of collaboration.

“There’s enormous room for youth-driven partnerships—especially in agriculture, energy, defense tech, and cultural tourism,” said Acep Somantri from Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He also emphasized how Poland has become Indonesia’s 12th largest trading partner in Europe, with over USD 1 billion in annual trade since 2022. The message? Business is already booming. What’s missing is fresh, international-minded talent to shape where it goes next.

The bottom line:
This isn’t just diplomacy. It’s your shot at building a career that spans continents. Whether you’re a student, a startup founder, a job hunter, or just someone with a global mindset, the Indonesia–Poland connection might just be your next big move.
