KEBAYA GOES TO UNESCO!
"Barisan Berkebaya Goes to UNESCO" was held on the first day of the Indo Garment & Textile Expo 2022 (Thursday, 25/08/2022), featuring various combinations and different models.
As a part of the effort to encourage the rise of the garment and textile industry in Indonesia, the Indo Garment & Textile Expo 2022 occurred with the Indo Leather & Footwear, National Sneakers Expo, and IndoBeauty & K-Beauty Expo exhibitions in August 2022.
The event, which took place from August 25 to 27 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran Jakarta, was attended by many businessmen from various sectors and participants from different countries such as China, Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and others.
In addition to displaying various exhibitions in various industries, this exhibition also supports the "Kebaya Goes to UNESCO" program, which is campaigned by the community of Kebaya in Indonesia with the Kebaya Fashion Show held by Barisan Berkebaya.
The fashion show with the theme "Barisan Berkebaya Goes to UNESCO" was held on the first day of the Indo Garment & Textile Expo 2022 (Thursday, 25/08/2022), featuring various combinations and different models. Approximately ten models of multiple ages show the batik collections from Riana Kesuma.
Riana Kesuma's love for batik has been around since she was eight. Her love of the batik has become why his batik collections are named 'Batik Riana Kusuma' his name.
This time, the batik's show combines matching colors between the Kebaya and the sarongs further to highlight the Kebaya's beautiful and elegant side. This combination is also supported by the use of Sanggul in several models, making them appear more elegant. Not only that, but Riana Kusuma's collection also features hijabi mannequins that are no less interesting. She considers the hijab to be a part of life for some people. She wants to show that people with hijab can still look charming by using Kebaya and batik.
The fashion shows that take place for around 2 hours also give the audience information about various things related to the batik used by each model, by Riana Kusuma herself —starting from the meaning and coloring materials used in making batik and the cultures contained in it.
We can also feel the enthusiasm at this event from the visitors who appear to come wearing clothes with a touch of batik and Kebaya with different models and colors.
With this event, there is hope that we can continue to be part of supporting the government's program in campaigning for the Indonesian Kebaya to become one of the UNESCO cultural heritages.
