Feat Pictures announced that "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" has approximately 500,000 tickets sold in the first week in Indonesia. 

According to Bicara Box Office, this achievement has surpassed previous anime movie releases in Indonesia, which are "Demon Slayer Mugen Train" with 360,000 and "One Piece Stampede" with 468,000. 

The record for the best-selling ticket for anime movies still goes to "Doraemon Stand By Me" with more than 1,2 million tickets sold in 20 cinemas across Indonesia. 

In the spirit of the movie release, Uniqlo has collaborated with the franchise in releasing a new T-shirt collection. The movie is released in all theatres all over Indonesia, with a special ticket design at CGV and free posters from Cinepolis.

Synopsis and cast
"Jujutsu Kaisen 0" acts as the prequel for the 24-episodes Jujutsu Kaisen anime that is released in fall 2020. The story revolves around Yuta Okkotsu, a boy who is haunted by the ghost of his childhood friend, Rika Orimoto, who died in a traffic incident years ago. The once sweet Rika has manifested into a monstrous, powerful entity that has been fiercely protecting him. 

After an accident that sets Rika on bloodshed, Yuta is apprehended by Jujutsu sorcerers–people who counteract against beings like Rika. Yuta wishes to be isolated as he does not want to hurt anyone else but one of his apprehenders, Gojo Satoru, the strongest sorcerer, instead offers him to enroll in the Jujutsu High to learn manifest Rika for good. 

In Jujutsu High, Yuta befriended Maki Zenin, a Jujutsu weapon expert, Toge Inumaki, a powerful spell caster who uses his words as a weapon and a talking panda, Panda. 

Voicing Yuta Okkotsu is Megumi Ogata, who is known for her role as Shinji Ikari from "Neon Genesis Evangelion". Hanazawa Kana who is known for her role in the “Monogatari series”, “Angel Beats” and “Nisekoi: Fake Love” voices Orimoto Rika. Nakamura Yuuichi reprises his role as Gojo Satoru, so does Uchiyama Kouki as Toge Inumaki, Komatsu Mikako as Maki Zenin, and Seki Tomokazu as Panda. 

MAPPA Studios worked for this movie along with TOHO animations as their producers. MAPPA Studios is known for their work in TV anime series like “Attack on Titan”, “Yuri on Ice” and “Terror in Resonance".

"Jujutsu Kaisen 0" is one of the most anticipated anime movies and now, it is finally here. The audience response for the movie has been nothing but positive from both the newcomers to the series and also the long-time fans. It has received a fresh 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 99 percent audience score. 

A critic from San Jose Mercury News, Randy Myers, commented that "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" is a thrilling high point in anime, animated with devilish glee and full of deep characters. Audience members commented on the stunning animation and insanely good story plot for new and old fans alike.
