Mercedes-Benz Indonesia has released two new cars for premium sedan fans in the country. The New E 300 AMG Line and The New S450 4 Matic Luxury launched at the Mercedes-Benz Star Expo in Senayan City, Jakarta, Wednesday (11/3/2021).

The two latest models are directly assembled at the Mercedes-Benz Factory in Wanaherang, Bogor, West Java. The presence of The New E 300 AMG Line and The New S450 4 Matic Luxury complements the previously assembled line of locally made products, namely the GLA, GLC, GLE, and GLS in the SUV segment, as well as the AMG A 35 Sedan and AMG GLA 35 for high-performance models.

“Today, we are very pleased to introduce two Mercedes-Benz luxury sedans, the New E-Class and the New S-Class. Over the years, these two models have shaped their respective segments since they were first introduced in Indonesia. Now, with their newest appearance, the New E-Class and New S-Class are again the benchmarks in their respective classes," said Choi Duk Jun, President Director of PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia, Wednesday (11/3/2021).

"For us, 2021 is a special year, because during the pandemic, then the shortage of semiconductors, we can still carry out the plan to bring 10 new vehicles to the Indonesian market from the beginning of the year until now," said Head of Sales Operation and Product Management PT MBDI, Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto.

"It becomes extraordinary because with the addition of locally assembled models in Wanaherang. Now there are 10 locally assembled models. This proves our commitment to continue to grow in the Indonesian market," he added.

The New E 300 AMG Line is powered by the E300 AMG Line engine with a 1,991 cc four-cylinder petrol engine and is mated to a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission. They claim the car engine can blow power of 256 horsepower at 5,800 - 6,000 rpm, while torque is at 370 Nm at 1,800 - 4,000 rpm.

With the stock above, the new 300 AMG Line can run from zero to 100 km / h in just 8.1 seconds.

The facelifted version for one of Mercedes-Benz's best-selling sedan models comes in two variants: the E 200 Avantgarde and the E 300 AMG Line. The 10th generation E-Class brings Mercedes' new design style, making it even more similar to the S-Class. The shape of the front and rear lights has changed to be more dynamic while still showing the impression of luxury.

The enhanced dynamics and upgrades of the E-Class are reflected in the various models: the entry-level E 200 model comes with a sporty Avantgarde Line exterior. The new front with increased chrome content contributes to the new look: the redesigned Avantgarde Line grille with two chrome louvers and vertical high-gloss black struts. Chrome and high-gloss black trim elements on the front bumper accentuate a sporty and elegant look.

The E 300 AMG Line comes with a new bumper in the style of the AMG Performance model that looks more sporty. In addition, the E 200 Avantgarde and E 300 AMG Line have a hood with a power dome. The E-Class has LED headlights as standard for the E 200, while the E 300 is equipped with Multibeam LED headlights, including Ultra Range high beam.

The E 200 and E 300 are equipped with driving assist features such as capacitive hands-off detection and Active Brake Assist. More complete on the E 300, which has been provided with Active Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning, Driving Assistance Package, and Active Distance Assist Distronic.

The price offered for each new E-Class is Rp 1,010 billion off the road for the E 200 Avantgarde and Rp 1,275 billion off the road for the E 300 AMG Line.

While the S450 4Matic Luxury model has differences in some parts of the interior and exterior, the most obvious difference is the alloy wheels, which now use 19 inches to replace the CBU version, which operates 20 inches.

The most luxurious sedan model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup has now been assembled locally in Indonesia. The luxury of the S 450 4Matic can be enjoyed through almost all senses – sight, touch, hearing, and smell. The Driving Assistance Package and the MBUX infotainment system with the "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant come with many new functions, and both are integrated as standard.

Modern luxury reaches the next level in the interior of the S-Class. The designers have created a comfortable atmosphere with a lounge character characterized by elegance, high quality, and lightness. The dashboard with a new architecture, modern surface design, and ergonomic display settings are particular highlights. But the comfort aspect goes deeper: With a high ride quality and low noise level, the S-Class takes care of the well-being of its passengers.

"We didn't reduce the existing features, but we only changed the 20-inch rims to 19 inches to increase comfort. There are no changes between the CBU and CKD versions, only the wheel changes and some interior parts," said Aldo Andityra Rais, Department Manager and Sales Operations PT MBDI, on the same occasion.

Furthermore, Aldo explained that the differences also occurred in terms of the interior. The other features, engines, and technology used by the S450 4Matic Luxury are still the same as the previous generation with CBU status.

Under the hood of The New S450 4 Matic Luxury, a 2,999 cc engine can spew out 367 hp at 5,500 rpm - 6,100 rpm. While the torque reaches 500 nm in the range of 1,600 - 4,500 rpm. The New S450, 4 Matic Luxury, is Rp 2,525,000,000 (Off The Road). This latest S-Class price tag is around Rp 500 million cheaper than the CBU version, priced at Rp 3 billion off the road. This is also affected by taxes on luxury goods based on emissions.

"The price change in the newly launched S-Class is arguably down to Rp 500 million. While the E-Class version is down by around Rp 100 million compared to the previous generation version," continued Kariyanto.
