The Indonesian Olympic team’s official opening ceremony outfits for the 2024 Olympics in Paris have been revealed, showcasing a blend of modern style and traditional Javanese elements. Renowned designer Didit Hediprasetyo crafted these outfits, celebrating Indonesia’s rich cultural history and athletic prowess through exquisite workmanship and traditional design principles.

Drawing inspiration from 19th-century Javanese Romantic painter Raden Saleh, the designs embody Indonesia’s diverse cultural heritage and global reach. The men’s costume features white pants paired with velvet and washed-out denim, reminiscent of motorcycle jackets and the traditional Javanese Beskap. The women’s outfit blends sophistication with sporty flair, combining a white jumpsuit with a red Kebaya Kutubaru top. Subtle leather Indonesian symbols, precise stitching, and modern Blangkon headpieces showcase the meticulous attention to detail.

“I am deeply grateful to have designed the official parade uniforms for the athletes representing Indonesia at the 2024 Olympics in Paris,” said Didit Hediprasetyo. “My hope is to create designs that embody the pride, spirit, and resilience of our nation, while ensuring that each athlete appears and performs at their best on the world stage.”

These outfits are set to make a striking impression at the opening ceremony, reflecting Indonesia’s unique cultural identity and the nation’s dedication to excellence in the global arena.
