The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Pandjaitan, confirmed that Elon Musk, the world's richest person and owner of SpaceX, will visit the Capital City Region of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), also known as IKN. Musk's presence in Indonesia brings good news, as he plans to install the Starlink satellite internet access at Community Health Centers (Puskesmas).

Starlink is a satellite-based internet service provided by Musk's aerospace company, SpaceX. Luhut Pandjaitan also stated that he had just spoken with Musk over the phone last Friday. "I spoke with Elon Musk a week ago, last Friday. Starlink is about to enter. I think the requirements are almost complete. He will come to IKN," he said on Wednesday (7/2/2024).

Regarding Starlink's request for permission to operate in Indonesia, Luhut explained that they had submitted a letter to the Ministry of Communication and Informatics. "Once the letter is completed at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, a week later we will issue an ILO, an operating license. Once that's done, five days later he can come to Indonesia," he added.

Luhut also proposed that Musk, during his visit to Indonesia, stops by IKN to launch the Starlink service. "We have proposed to him to visit IKN because he said he wants to launch in IKN and visit the Puskesmas near IKN. Because of this, the President asked why Starlink, so that community health centers that are not reachable by communication can be reached with Starlink so that health services in rural areas can be accessible," said Luhut.

Elon Musk's visit to Indonesia, bringing the Starlink service, is expected to improve internet access in remote areas, including expanding healthcare services in rural areas. Thus, the presence of Starlink in Indonesia will not only bring technological benefits but also open up new opportunities for community healthcare services.
