Timo Tjahjanto, the Indonesian director known for The Night Comes for Us, has been hired to direct The Burnout, a Hollywood action comedy for studio Miramax. The news was shared this week. Miramax has not yet announced the cast, the budget, or the release date.

What is The burnout about?

The film mixes spy tension with jokes and odd characters. The hero is a former CIA agent who wants an easy life in Ibiza, Spain, after leaving the spy world.

His peace does not last. He gets pulled into a new mission full of action. Think of a man who just wants to relax, but keeps getting dragged back into chaos.

Who is writing The Burnout?

Why does Timo Tjahjanto directing The Burnout matter?

Here is the surprising part. Timo became famous for violent, bone-cracking action, not for laughs. Now he is directing a comedy.
