Indonesia welcomes the future of electric mobility as BMW Astra Indonesia, the official distributor and dealer for BMW in the country, officially handed over the first batch of BMW iX xDrive40 Sport Activity Vehicles (SAV) to eager customers at the BMW Astra Serpong showroom.

The much-anticipated BMW iX xDrive40 made its international debut some time ago, garnering attention for its cutting-edge design, innovative features, and commitment to sustainable driving. Sanfrantis Tanu, CEO of BMW Astra Indonesia, expressed excitement about being the first distributor to bring the BMW iX to the Indonesian market.

"BMW Astra is proud as BMW's official distributor today to be able to hand over the BMW Electric SAV, which is in great demand, to the first 17 buyers of BMW iX in Indonesia," shared Sanfrantis Tanu during a media briefing on Tuesday, March 21.

The event marked a milestone for BMW Astra as it symbolized the beginning of a new era in the Indonesian automotive market, aligning with the global shift towards electric vehicles. Not only did BMW Astra ensure the seamless delivery of the BMW iX, but they also highlighted their commitment to supporting electric mobility. Sanfrantis Tanu emphasized that all technicians in the official BMW Astra dealerships across Indonesia have received the Gen 5 certification from BMW AG, a crucial qualification for handling the latest BMW and MINI electric vehicles.

"All official BMW Astra workshops in Indonesia have technicians who have received Gen 5 certification from BMW AG. This certification is the main requirement for technicians to be able to handle the latest BMW and MINI electric vehicles, including BMW iX," stated Tanu. He further added that the workshop facilities and technician expertise are not only qualified to serve BMW iX but also other electric vehicles from the BMW and MINI lineup.

In a strategic move to cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles, BMW Astra has equipped all of its branches in Jakarta and Surabaya with special facilities and equipment specifically designed to handle the latest BMW and MINI electric vehicles.
