PT. Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), in collaboration with the Directorate General for Trains (DJKA) of the Transportation Ministry and contractors, has commenced the first phase of facility and infrastructure inspection for the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train (KCJB). This thorough inspection process is part of the series of operational preparations for the high-speed train service, aiming to ensure its safety, compliance, and operational readiness.

General Manager Corporate Secretary of KCIC, Eva Chairunisa, stated that the testing for facilities and infrastructure began on June 12, 2023, and is still ongoing in various operational areas. The inspection is conducted in several phases, covering document framework examination, physical framework examination, and function examination.

The document framework examination verifies the project's compliance with the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 3 of 2022 on High-Speed Train Implementation, ensuring that all required documents are in order. The physical framework examination assesses the harmony between the project's physical condition, the documented framework, and regulatory standards.

The function examination, which is conducted within several specified parameters, comprises two main aspects: the rail and structure inspection, and the operational facility inspection. During the rail and structure inspection, the focus is on evaluating the railway yard, bridges, and tunnels. Key components like rails, turnouts, rail sleepers, and rail anchors are carefully examined for their performance and safety. The operational facility inspection covers signaling, telecommunication, and electricity, ensuring the smooth functioning of critical systems.

Eva Chairunisa emphasized the meticulousness of the inspection, given that the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train will be the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. KCIC, in close coordination with the Ministry of Transportation, is prioritizing safety and comfort, with every aspect of the train service undergoing careful scrutiny to ensure a seamless and secure operation.

The high-speed train project has garnered significant attention as it is expected to revolutionize transportation in the region, enhancing connectivity and promoting economic growth.
