After two years, drone manufacturer DJI has finally launched its newest generation of action cameras, called Action 2.

The DJI Action 2 is a second-generation action camera, the successor to the DJI Osmo Action action camera. Apart from being different in naming, the DJI Action 2 also brings a new design and several feature enhancements, such as the latest image stabilization technology and magnetic connector.

In terms of design, Action 2 now comes in a square shape with 39 mm and 56 grams. This design makes the DJI Action 2 very different from its predecessors. In 2019, the Osmo Action came with a rectangular design similar to the GoPro.

On the front, the DJI Action 2 is equipped with a 1/1.7-inch camera sensor with a 12 MP resolution and an ultra-wide lens (155 degrees) with an aperture of f/2.8. The DJI Action 2 can shoot 4K video at up to 120 fps in 16:9 mode and 60 fps in 4:3 mode. For slow motion, the Action 2 camera can record 1080p 240 fps video in 16:9 mode.

This Action 2 camera is also equipped with enhanced stabilization features, namely with Rocksteady 2.0 and HorizonSteady. This stabilization feature ensures that the video remains horizontal, no matter how much the camera moves.

While on the back, the DJI Action 2 is equipped with a 1.76-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 446 x 424 pixels and a brightness of 500 nits. Equipped with a magnetic connector Interestingly, the DJI Action 2 is also equipped with a magnetic connector on the bottom of the camera body.

This magnetic connector makes it easy for the Action 2 to connect with the front touchscreen, power mod, and camera support accessories. The additional touch screen module itself has the exact specifications of the built-in screen on the camera. With this other screen module, it makes it easier for users to take vlogger-style selfie videos.

Apart from that, this module is also equipped with four microphones for better audio capture, a 256 GB microSD slot, and an extra 1,300 mAh battery.

While a particular power mod provides additional battery capacity on the DJI Action 2 camera, which is 1,300 mAh, without different modules, the DJI Action 2 only has 32 GB of internal storage and a 580 mAh battery capacity.

DJI also provides various additional accessories to make it easier for users when using Action 2 in multiple types of activities. Action 2's unique accessories include a lanyard, headband, magnetic adapter holder, and magnetic ball-joint adapter mount.

For example, when you want to record while playing basketball with the first-person point of view (PoV), users need to use a headband accessory to put their Action 2 camera. With the lanyard accessory (neck hanger), the user wraps the lanyard around his neck and connects it to the DJI Action 2.

Regarding water resistance, the DJI Action 2 is designed for diving to 10 m without extra protection. Alternatively, users can use an additional waterproof case that allows the camera to be taken diving to a depth of 60 m. Orders can be made online or offline at DJI's official stores in Grand Indonesia, retail stores, and partner marketplaces.

The price of the DJI Action 2 in Indonesia consists of two options, the DJI Action 2 Dual-Screen Combo for Rp 8,599,000. Consumers get a DJI Action 2 camera unit, a touchscreen mod front, a magnetic lanyard, a magnetic ball-joint adapter mount, and a magnetic adapter mount.

DJI Action 2 Power Combo for Rp 6,899,000. Consumers get a DJI Action 2 camera unit, a power mod, a magnetic lanyard, and a magnetic adapter mount. Consumers can purchase other Action 2 accessories separately.
