The Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) lit up on Saturday night as the prestigious Golden Disc Awards 2024 concluded with a dazzling display of musical talent from the world of K-pop. The event marked the fifth time the awards ceremony was held outside South Korea, showcasing the global appeal of Korean music.

The night saw multiple wins for female K-pop groups, as IVE, NewJeans, and LE SSERAFIM took home more than one Golden Disc Awards 2024 trophy each. Their victories came in the categories of Digital Song Bonsang and Album Bonsang, reflecting their exceptional contributions to the K-pop scene.

The sensational group FIFTY FIFTY was honored with the title of Rookie Artist of the Year, sharing the spotlight with ZEROBASEONE, as they both captured the hearts of fans with their remarkable debut performances.

The Golden Disc Awards in Jakarta featured a star-studded lineup, including performances by NewJeans, SEVENTEEN, and Stray Kids, showcasing the diverse talents within the K-pop industry.

Notably, Jakarta became the fifth city outside of South Korea to host the Golden Disc Awards, following previous ceremonies in Japan (2012), Malaysia (2013), China (2015), and Thailand (2022).

The Golden Disc Awards, which originated in 1986 as the Korea Visual and Records Grand Prize Awards, has evolved over the years. In 2001, it adopted the name Golden Disk Awards, and in 2015, the spelling was updated to Golden Disc Awards. The event stands as a significant accolade in the South Korean music industry, recognizing and appreciating outstanding contributions to the local music scene.
