BMW continues to offer new concepts for future mobility. The latest, this German automotive brand offers the Concept CE 02 electric motorbike concept, which resembles a mini motorbike for young riders who want a different sensation.

This concept looks fresher than the previous BMW concept bike, Concept C 02, which has a scooter design. Concept CE 02 is smaller and has lower power than Concept C 02. Still, BMW promises a more fun ride around the city without emissions.

"At first glance, there is little about the BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02 that is typically BMW Motorrad – it's something completely new. We want to strive for something novel and be pioneers – which is what we've proven ourselves capable of with various projects in the past. The Concept CE 02 features new proportions and modern forms of single-track mobility in an urban environment," said Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design BMW Motorrad.

"In addition, we wanted to achieve a level of design innovation that we have not had before at this level. Straightforward use was important, but above all the emotional component was crucial, as well as riding fun," he added.

This electric motor uses a belt to deliver power from the electric motor to the wheels. Its power reaches 11 kW or about 15 hp. Enough as a means of transportation in urban areas.

Regarding the driving character, it still brings the sensation of an electric motor with an instant power surge. The top speed of this electric motorbike reaches 90 km per hour. Imagine driving this motorbike at a red light intersection; the engine can go fast when the light turns green.

BMW has not announced how big the battery capacity of the Concept CE 02 is. But the manufacturer claims this electric motor can go as far as 90 kilometers. Sufficient distance to drive around the city area.

This motorbike, which is targeted for riders aged 16 years and over, is designed to meet the needs of activities. Just look at the design; there is a place to place a skateboard and a futuristic cyberpunk-style shape. The seat height is also not too high at 730 mm.

The transparent and straightforward proportions ensure a direct, emotional aesthetic appeal. Two large-size wheels, similar to a fun bike, promise robustness and straight riding fun. They are designed as disc wheels, thereby emphasizing the proportions of the vehicle graphically. The dark area for the two battery units and the drive with silver accentuations create a compact body: the long, narrow seat and the frame round off the distinctive silhouette.

Components on the motorcycle include two 15-inch wheel discs, front suspension, handlebar model handlebars, and an electric motor. Simple. But because of this also the weight of the engine is only about 120 kilograms.

Electric motorcycles are usually heavier than conventional engines because they carry a heavier battery. Concept CE 02 is 45 kilograms lighter than its brother GS 310 GS Adventure, lightweight for traditional motorbikes.

Thanks to the flat vehicle body, the center of gravity are low and favorable in riding dynamics. At the same time, the BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02 looks inviting and confidence-inspiring thanks to the large disc wheels and low seat height. Characteristic proportions not only allow for a very agile riding experience but are also intended to encourage non-motorcyclists to get on perhaps and have a go.

The continuous seat reflects the versatility of the concept. Whether leaning far back with your feet first or leaning forward with your feet on the rear footrests or, of course, with two people – the seat allows numerous sitting positions since no foot brake lever has to be operated due to the electric drive.

In addition, the free space between the seat and frame offers room for small luggage items. In the front area of the seat, there are two crossed-over petrol-colored elastic bands attached in such a way as to enable smaller items to be casually tucked in. Further storage space is provided by the brackets: the front footrests are mounted here, too. You can also attach your own skateboard here and use it as a footrest.

The front face of the Concept CE 02 looks futuristic thanks to the use of a box-shaped headlamp with four LEDs. At the rear, LED stop lamps are placed on the left and right sides of the rear seat.

The side of the steering wheel has a tiny color screen that contains various vehicle information. Details such as wheel discs, single swing arm, and components such as the handlebar, drive belt, and suspension show an urban design and modern character.

BMW retains the characteristic black and silver colors. Black is reminiscent of BMW motorcycle products with high gloss surfaces detail, making this concept motorcycle appear to steal attention.
