In honor of Indonesia's 78th Independence Day, The Apurva Kempinski Bali proudly introduced the annual Powerful Indonesia Festival. This captivating event served as a celebration that unveiled the nation's potent essence through a captivating blend of art, culture, tradition, heritage, and music. It stood as a testament to unity and creativity, encapsulating the nation's rich heritage.

Commencing on August 11, 2023, the Powerful Indonesia Festival brought together an exceptional assembly of accomplished maestros, artists, creators, and artisans. This collective symphony of collaboration culminated in a meticulously curated festival experience.

A Spectrum of Enlightening Activities

The festival's grand opening on August 11, 2023, presented the "Land of Art Exhibition," featuring Kita Art Friends. This event invited enthusiasts to explore the intricate and vibrant tapestry of Indonesian art. Accomplished and emerging artists converged to present their masterpieces, providing guests with an immersive visual journey.

Shifting the spotlight to August 17, 2023, the festival turned its attention to a Tribute to I Gusti Ngurah Rai: Book Launch by Andre Syahreza at L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo. This event unveiled "Prosa Gerilya," a tribute to the heroic legacy of Gusti Ngurah Rai, a revered figure in Bali's history. The launch featured the presence of internationally recognized author, Dee Lestari, along with the distinguished Bali-born writer, Frisca Aswarini.

August 17, 2023, also marked the highly anticipated Grand Reveal of SR 1928: The Awakening Concert by Indonesian Maestro Aksan Sjuman. This musical revelation promised an evening of harmonious resonance. Central to this event was the unveiling of the SR 1928 The Awakening Concert Grand Piano, a masterpiece crafted in collaboration between Aksan Sjuman, Raul Renanda, and Saniharto Enggalhardjo. The event featured an exclusive performance by Aksan Sjuman, Indra Lesmana, and SB Acoustics, culminating in the world premiere of Aksan Sjuman's album 'Dunia Saat Mata Terpejam' - an auditory experience transcending boundaries.

Bringing the festivities to a close was the Harmony in Diversity: A 65-Years Celebration of Indonesia and Japan on August 18, 2023. A fashion show by acclaimed designer Torang Sitorus seamlessly wove together the cultures of Indonesia and Japan, celebrating unity and mutual respect.

Beyond the festival's dates, Indonesia, The Land of Art – Live Art Studio Exhibition, from August 11, 2023, to November 3, 2023, provided an immersive portrayal of the nation's artistry. Live art studios set up in the Pendopo Lobby offered guests the chance to witness artists at work. Renowned artists, including Ugo Untoro, Sutjipto Adi, Lugas Syllabus, and Vincent Prijadi, participated in this three-month exhibition.

Tribute To I Gusti Ngurah Rai – Book Launch By Andre Syahreza on August 17, 2023, delved into the remarkable life and contributions of I Gusti Ngurah Rai. The event was graced by acclaimed author Dee Lestari and Bali-born writer Frischa Aswarini.

World Premiere 'Dunia Saat Mata Terpejam' – The Awakening Concert by Indonesian Maestro Aksan Sjuman unveiled a musical masterpiece on August 17, 2023.
