Wolverine, the iconic boot brand, has partnered with 343 Industries, the developers of the Halo franchise, to create a limited-edition boot inspired by the iconic Master Chief.

Originally, the collaboration was inspired by the Hellcat boot. After releasing a video showcasing the boot's strength in August 2020, fans pointed out it looked like Gear from the Halo universe.

After almost a year of collaboration, the two companies have finally unveiled the official Wolverine x Halo: The Master Chief boots, available for $225 (Rp 3.2 million), on March 29.

Master Chief boots pair features a unique design, such as the number 117 on the heel. The UNSC logo can also be found throughout the boot.

The upper of the boot features the materials group's logo, the manufacturer of the Mjolnir armor. It also features a high-rebound ETPU midsole for added stability and a rubber outsole for excellent traction. Lastly, it has a gold accent on the stitches and lacing.

Long-awaited collaboration
The 343 Industries is a developer of the Halo series of video games. The company's most recent release, Halo Infinite, became the most successful game in the franchise's history.

Since its establishment 138 years ago, Wolverine has been dedicated to honoring the spirit of the American worker and building the next generation of skilled laborers. Through its charitable efforts, it has donated over $2 million to various organizations over the years.

After almost a year of collaboration, the two companies have finally unveiled the official Master Chief boot. Tom Kennedy, the brand's president, praised the partnership between 343 Industries and Wolverine.

"After nearly a year of design and collaboration, we're proud to launch the Wolverine x Halo: The Master Chief boot," said Kennedy. "This collaboration is a true testament to the devotion both Wolverine and 343 Industries have to our fans, and we couldn't be more thrilled to bring a boot inspired by the Halo universe to life."

The release of the Master Chief boot coincides with an exciting time for the franchise. In January, it was revealed that more than 20 million people have played the game since it was released in December.

343 Industries noted that the company received numerous requests from its fans for a Master Chef-inspired boot. So, when the opportunity presented itself, the company was able to respond.

"Given our roots in military science fiction, we've often heard from our fans that there is an appetite for a boot inspired by the Master Chief," said Halo and Xbox Consumer Products Director John Friend. "So when Wolverine approached us about a collaboration, we were ready to answer the call."

The limited-edition Master Chief boot allows gamers to step into the shoes of the game's main character and experience the Halo universe in their everyday lives.

"The limited-edition boot gives Halo fans a chance to step inside (the boots) to become Master Chief and bring the Halo universe into their everyday life, and we're eager to see how fans react to the collaboration and forthcoming launches as part of our partnership with Wolverine," Friend continued.
