"THE COLORS OF COLOMBIA" EXHIBITION CONCLUDES WITH RESOUNDING SUCCESS AT WIC ANNUAL CHARITY BAZAAR 2023
Exploring Colombian Heritage Through Handwoven Treasures: The Resounding Success of 'The Colors of Colombia' Exhibition at WIC Annual Charity Bazaar 2023
Get ready for a captivating journey through the vibrant and intricate world of Colombian Wayuu mochilas and authentic accessories at "The Colors of Colombia" exhibition, set to be a highlight of the 54th Women's International Club (WIC) Annual Charity Bazaar 2023. This exclusive showcase promises to immerse visitors in the rich cultural heritage of Colombia, inviting them to discover the stories woven into each piece.
The event, which took place from 11 am to 2 pm, offered a rare opportunity for attendees to explore the intricate details and cultural significance woven into each handcrafted piece. Colombian Wayuu mochilas are renowned for their unique designs and vibrant colors, and this exhibition showcased them as works of art, each telling a story of Colombia's indigenous Wayuu people.
As part of the WIC Annual Charity Bazaar, the "Colors of Colombia" exhibition was in line with the organization's commitment to "Shopping with Impact." The Women's International Club, being the largest international women's organization in Indonesia, has consistently demonstrated its dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of those in need. All proceeds from the exhibition and the Bazaar as a whole will be channeled into various charitable activities, including scholarships and contributions to orphanages, thus reinforcing the club's commitment to giving back to the community.
To provide visitors with a glimpse of what the Bazaar had to offer, representatives from participating embassies gathered for a Media Gathering on October 31, 2023, at the Tugu Kunstkring Paleis, where they unveiled some of the highlights of their embassy stalls. The collaboration with embassies added a unique global dimension to the event, offering a variety of international products and cultural experiences.
The grand opening of the WIC Annual Charity Bazaar was graced by the presence of Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, the spouse of Indonesia's President, further enhancing the event's significance. Her attendance on the opening day set the stage for a two-day celebration of culture, compassion, and commerce.
