Rolls-Royce has just introduced the Spectre, the luxury automotive company's future model for the electric car market. This electric car product will be the first from the manufacturer from Goodwood.

The presence of the Spectre will be the first step of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars' plan whereby in 2030, their entire product line will be electric drive. A bold move for a manufacturer that has been around since 1904.

"Today, 117 years later, I am proud to announce that Rolls-Royce will embark on a road-testing program for an extraordinary new product that will elevate the full electric global car revolution and create the first – and best – most luxurious product of its kind. This is not a prototype. This is a real thing, it will be tested in plain sight and our clients will take delivery of the first cars in the fourth quarter of 2023." said Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Executive Officer Torsten Müller-Ötvös in an official statement.

The presence of Spectre is reminiscent of the steps of the founders of Rolls-Royce, Charles Rolls and Sir Henry Royce. At that time, both of them used the most advanced technology to create internal combustion cars with standards that leapfrogged other vehicle manufacturers.

The use of electric motors itself is not something new in the history of Rolls-Royce. Sir Henry Royce had always been fascinated by everything electrified. His first business was named F.H. Royce, and Company is known for inventing dynamos, electric winch motors and patenting bayonet-style lighting fixtures.

In fact, Rolls also once revealed the advantages of an electric car that is silent and clean from exhaust gases that were smelly and noisy. He believes electric vehicles will be helpful in the future.

"Charles Rolls' predictions have been under constant consideration over the years. But at that time we were not satisfied with the available technology. Until now. Now is the time to change the direction of the future of luxury," said Torsten.

Spectre is a product that drives tremendous interest in electric motor technology, especially for Rolls-Royce consumers known for being royal. Since this decade, Rolls-Royce has always been asked about its steps towards the era of electrification. And Spectre is the answer.

The Spectre is designed and built by Rolls-Royce designers and engineers at Goodwood. This electric car will begin trials to cover 2.5 million kilometres of roads above the earth. Rolls-Royce has used this simulation for more than 400 years by travelling to the world's four corners.

The Spectre architecture will use Phantom's same aluminium architecture. The scalable and flexible space frame will support all current and future Rolls-Royce models.

This technology was developed by Rolls-Royce itself and created to form the foundation not only for conventional engines but also for models with different technologies. Like this electric motor.

"To this end, our upcoming electric car will benefit from the Rolls-Royce architecture and therefore the outstanding Rolls-Royce experience on the road. Free from the group's platform-sharing strategy, we were able to integrate our plans for an electric powertrain into the initial architectural design and ensure that this remarkable new product met the very high expectations of our clients." said Torsten.

Regarding the Spectre name, Rolls-Royce has always been known by unique names. Call it the Phantom, Ghost, and Wraith models. An excellent choice for this latest condition and product is Spectre.

"Spectre is the name given to otherworldly beings synonymous with great power and apparitions; beings from alternate realms who make their presence felt through fleeting manifestations. Spectre forced the world to stop. It dominates the space it occupies. Then, as quickly as he appeared, he disappeared, leaving behind waves of excitement, energy, and intrigue. This name fits perfectly with Rolls-Royce – a car that makes its presence felt before disappearing into a world inaccessible to everyone but a few," said Torsten.
