At CES 2024, Samsung took the tech world by storm by revealing the latest iteration of its innovative Ballie robot, now equipped with a projector that seamlessly follows you around the home. The updated version showcases an array of features that make it not just a charming companion but also a versatile smart home assistant.

In an engaging video presentation, Samsung demonstrated the capabilities of the new Ballie, presented in a delightful yellow color. One of its standout features is its ability to project images onto the floor, wall, or ceiling, dynamically adjusting the projection based on the distance from surfaces and ambient lighting conditions. According to Samsung, Ballie is the "world’s first projector to automatically detect people’s posture and facial angle and adjust the optimal projection angle for you."

The video showcased Ballie's versatility by projecting a video of a bird for a dog, displaying a video call on a wall, and streaming a fitness video for someone exercising. The robot also played the role of a smart home assistant, effortlessly turning on lights, dispensing pet food, and even sending text messages to inform users about its activities. Samsung's press email emphasized Ballie's compatibility with various smart home devices, stating it can control "air conditioners, lights, laundry machines, and more."

Despite the excitement generated by the video, Samsung did not provide specific details about the potential release date or pricing for Ballie. In contrast to CES 2020, where the robot physically rolled onstage, this year's presentation relied solely on the video footage. The company's silence regarding the product's availability has left consumers eagerly anticipating whether Ballie will become more than just a captivating concept.

The Ballie 2.0 video concluded with a whimsical touch, as the robot filled the ceiling above a bed with a mesmerizing cosmic scene, showcasing the potential for Ballie to create immersive visual experiences in the home.

While the current status of Ballie's release remains uncertain, the CES 2024 presentation has undoubtedly reignited interest in Samsung's innovative AI robot. Tech enthusiasts and consumers alike will be eagerly awaiting further details on when, and if, Ballie will be making its way into smart homes around the world.
