NEW RYZEN 5 7235H AND 7235HS PROCESSORS LAUNCHED: A SHIFT IN AMD'S LINEUP
AMD's Strategic Shift: Embracing Raw Processing Power over Integrated Graphics
AMD has once again shaken up the processor market with its latest additions to the Ryzen 7030 series – the Ryzen 5 7235H and 7235HS. These newcomers, built on the Rembrandt Refresh architecture, introduce a fresh wave of performance enhancements. Notably, they feature Zen3+ cores, setting them apart from the Ryzen 7040 series, which employs Zen4 architecture.
In a departure from previous releases, the Ryzen 5 7235H and 7235HS arrive in a quad-core configuration with 8 threads. They boast compatibility with the FP7r2 socket and operate within a power envelope ranging from 35 to 53 watts, with a standard power consumption of 45 watts.
Delving into the specifics, these processors offer a base clock speed of 3.2 GHz, with a maximum boost clock reaching up to 4.2 GHz. Interestingly, the 7235H variant caters specifically to the Chinese market, mirroring the clock speeds of the standard 7235HS variant.
However, one notable aspect shared by both SKUs is the absence of integrated graphics. While initial confusion arose due to the presence of integrated graphics listed in the main specifications sheet, it appears increasingly likely that these processors lack integrated graphics functionality altogether.
This move by AMD reflects a strategic pivot, as it focuses on delivering raw processing power while potentially offloading graphical tasks to dedicated graphics cards. It also signals a departure from the trend of integrating graphics cores into processors, a strategy that has become increasingly common in recent years.
The Ryzen 5 7235H and 7235HS processors mark another milestone in AMD's relentless pursuit of innovation and performance. With their advanced architecture and tailored specifications, they are poised to make waves in the competitive landscape of desktop computing. As enthusiasts eagerly await their release, AMD continues to demonstrate its commitment to pushing the boundaries of processor technology.
