Mercedes-Benz has reintroduced a new model for the Indonesian market. The models present are the Mercedes-AMG high-performance compact vehicles, namely the New Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC sedan and the Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 4MATIC. This introduction was carried out on Saturday and Sunday (9-10/10/2021) at the AMG Track Day event at the Sentul Circuit.

The presence of these two new models means that PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia offers a broader choice of vehicles from the high-performance segment in Indonesia. Mercedes currently offers the Mercedes-AMG 35 4MATIC Hatchback in the entry performance class, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC Coupe in the compact supersport class, and the high-performance SUV with the Mercedes-AMG G 63.

The two newest Mercedes models have been assembled locally at PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia, located in Wanaherang, Bogor, West Java. Several previous models built locally in Indonesia include the new A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, and S-Class and the new GLA, GLC, GLE, and new GLS.

The New Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC Sedan and GLA 35 4MATIC come with a 3-year warranty and a 5-year StarService service plan as standard, which includes maintenance, service, and replacement of unique consumable parts (e.g., brake pads, disc brakes) for 5 years from first registration date, with unlimited kilometers.

Both of these latest models also have a price. The new Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC Sedan is priced at IDR 995 million. The new Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 4 MATIC is valued at Rp 1.105 billion. Both are off the road or pre-tax status.

New A 35 4MATIC Sedan

The New A 35 4MATIC Sedan is the first choice for customers looking for the brand's sporty signature combined with a comfortable amount of space for passengers and luggage. Driving dynamics are ensured by a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine with 306 hp, AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G dual-clutch transmission, AMG suspension, and variable AMG Performance 4MATIC with an all-wheel-drive system.

An acceleration of 4.8 seconds for 0-100 km/h and a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited) also fulfill customer demands for high driving dynamics in the compact segment.

 This four-door sedan has a wheelbase of 2729 millimeters and displays the muscular proportions of a dynamic compact sedan. The AMG design is characterized by a radiator grille with twin louvers, AMG Line front apron with flics on the air inlets, front dividers, and silver chrome trim.

Above-average shoulder, elbow, and headroom plus easy rear access contribute to increased utility. The A 35 4MATIC Sedan has 944 mm of rear headroom.

The trunk holds 420 liters and is designed for practical use. In addition, the boot opening is also huge, with a width of 950 mm and a diagonal of 462 mm between the lock and the bottom edge of the rear window. This allows riders to unload luggage, even for larger pieces of luggage, conveniently.

In the A 35 4MATIC Sedan interior, the new MBUX multimedia system combines an intuitive operating structure with a sporty design. An emotionally engaging presentation features brilliant maximum resolution 3D graphics. Visually, the two screens under a single glass enclosure blend into the Widescreen Cockpit and serve as a central element. And of course, pioneer voice control activated with the words "Hey Mercedes" is also available.

2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine offers a spontaneous response to accelerator pedal commands, high traction power max torque—400 Nm from 3000 rpm. The crankcase made of high-strength, lightweight die-cast aluminum reduces vehicle weight which is most important for driving dynamics. A twin-scroll turbocharger is used for turbocharging. It combines optimal responsiveness at low engine speeds with a substantial increase in power at higher rates.

The high-tech standard of the four-cylinder engine comes with increased efficiency. These include CAMTRONIC variable valve control, intelligent thermal management for engine and oil, high-precision piezo injectors, and multi-spark ignition. In production, the patented CONICCHAPE® cylinder sharpener reduces internal engine friction and also increases efficiency.

The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G dual-clutch transmission also contributes to its agile and dynamic character. The gear ratios have been configured so that the driver experiences very spontaneous acceleration across all speed ranges, combined with fast gearshifts and optimal connection when shifting up.

New Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 4MATIC

The entry-level compact model lineup of the Mercedes-AMG 35 series is now complete with the New GLA 35 4MATIC. The technical base, a high-torque 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, produces 306 hp, distributed variably to all wheels. Dynamic performance with 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.2 seconds.

The design of the GLA 35 is based on the AMG Line. AMG's unique radiator grille emphasizes that this unit is part of the AMG family. Other identifying features include trim on the grille on the outside air inlets, front splitter in silver chrome, or optionally in glossy black. Attractive features are the light-alloy 19-inch 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels painted in tantalum gray with a high-gloss finish and door panels with inserts in silver chrome. A striking rear apron dominates the rearview with new diffuser inserts, an AMG spoiler lip on the roof spoiler, and two round tailpipes on the left and right.

In the interior of the vehicle, a high-tech atmosphere is complemented by a fully digital display. Distinctive touches include the seat upholstery in black ARTICO/ DINAMICA microfibre leather with contrasting red stitching and red seat belts. The carbon-fiber interior trim and round red air vents provide further highlights.

Customers can choose between three AMG display styles, "Classic," "Sport," and "Supersport," for the instrument cluster. The driver can display various unique displays through the AMG menu such as Warm-up, Set-up, G-Force, and Engine Data. Individual AMG shows like driving visualization modes or data telemetry, with touchscreen multimedia displays, emphasize dynamic configurations.

Dynamism, agility, and performance – these three attributes characterize the standard all-wheel-drive of the New AMG GLA 35 4MATIC. Variable AMG Performance 4MATIC combines the best traction with driving comfort. Torque distribution has many variations to meet dynamic handling requirements. The spectrum ranges from front-wheel drive to 50:50 percent distribution to front and rear axles.
