A warehouse. Two spotlights cutting through fog. A single word projected onto exposed brick: "For Revenge." No press release, no interview  just a 30-second video that told fans everything they needed to know.

That's how For Revenge, the alternative rock band from Bandung, confirmed what had been rumored for two weeks: they're behind the Indonesian-language single for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Marvel and Sony's next Tom Holland film.

For Revenge is a rock band from Bandung, formed in 2006, known for heartbreak anthems like "Serana" and "Untuk Siapa?" How did the rumor start

Vocalist Boniex lit the fuse himself. He posted a photo captioned "I Miss You Every Brand New Day" with a Spider-Man GIF attached, and fans quickly dubbed the "For Revenge Family"  connected the dots within hours. Sony Music Indonesia stayed quiet for days, which only fed the speculation further.

Why does the song title actually matter?
It's not just a catchy phrase. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, picks up four years after No Way Home. Peter Parker  still played by Tom Holland  is living in a world that has completely forgotten who he is. He's alone, mourning relationships that no longer exist because nobody remembers them. "I Miss You Every Brand New Day" isn't a coincidence; it's a lyric written for that exact emotional gap.

As the band put it in their announcement:

"From 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' movie. July 28, 2026."

Short. No exclamation points. That restraint is very on-brand for a group that built a fanbase on melancholy, not spectacle.

Is Indonesia getting special treatment here?
Kind of, yes. Indonesian audiences get the film two full days before the rest of the world  July 29 versus the July 31 global date  through CGV and XXI. That's a deliberate distribution choice by Sony Pictures, not an accident of scheduling.

And Indonesia isn't the only market getting a local musical tie-in. In Japan, Marvel commissioned Mrs. GREEN APPLE  the band behind "Inferno," the Fire Force anime opening that racked up over 500 million Spotify streams  to record "Brand New" for the same film. For Revenge is now sitting in that same tier of regional soundtrack partners, a first for an Indonesian rock act on a Marvel property this size.

What does this mean for For Revenge's career?
It's arguably the biggest placement of their 20-year run. Landing an original song on a Marvel Studios release  not a cover, not a licensing deal, an original single written for the film  puts them in conversation with acts most Indonesian bands never get near.
