ENJOYING THE ONLINE ART EXHIBITION BY ART MOMENTS JAKARTA
Art Moment Jakarta, supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, launched its second art exhibition.
During the pandemic, we are restricted to do a lot of things outside the house. So, we created events that are accessible via online meetings. The activities that used to be impossible to be done at home are being done within the comfort of our home due to the pandemic. Not only working or studying, but we can also now participate in so many enjoyable activities at home. One of them is visiting an art exhibition.
Visiting an art exhibition is quite literal. We can not really “visit” an art exhibition if we are not physically present at the exhibition. But through technology, we can take a break and visit an exhibition virtually. In Jakarta, there is an online art exhibition called Art Moments Jakarta Online 2, which is accessible for anyone worldwide.
Art Moments Jakarta is one of the leading art exhibitions in Indonesia initiated by many Indonesian art collectors and organized by a professional and experienced team. This event is a forum that brings together local and international art galleries to establish relationships, provide education, display works, and collaborate.
First launched in 2019, Art Moment Jakarta will be back from November 22 to December 21, 2021, online at artmomentsjakarta.com with offline venues at three art galleries in the capital city of Jakarta. During the first launching in 2019, Art Moments Jakarta Online managed to attract 65 galleries with a large volume of visitors. There were about 50,000 visitors came from Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Switzerland, Italy, the People’s Republic of China, and many more.
The second launching in 2021 has received full support from the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. Mr. Sandiaga Uno, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of The Republic of Indonesia, stated that the ministry appreciated all the efforts made by Art Moments Jakarta and the involved artists so that the activity could be carried out by following the recommendations of strict health protocols.
The Art Moment Jakarta Online is themed accordingly with the main concern of the Art Moments Jakarta, “Yesterday since Tomorrow is Today”. A series of interesting events related to the theme has been scheduled. One of the events is an NFT Art Prized Moments, the first national-scale NFT art competition in Indonesia using the eco-friendly Tezos blockchain with a cash prize of Rp30.000.000,00.
A fundraising event also will be held by collaborating with the Jakarta Biennale to showcase the works of the participants of the UOB Painting of The Year Indonesia 2021 offline and online. During this event, visitors can buy the showcased artworks and all the profits will be donated to the Jakarta Biennale Foundation managed by the Jakarta Arts Council.
Meanwhile, Art Moments Jakarta Online 2 will also hold a virtual exhibition titled Collectors Curated Moments initiated by a number of young art collectors starting on November 23, 2021. The event aims to strengthen the relationship between galleries, collectors, and artists. Some of the galleries that are part of this program are Artsphere (Jakarta), ISA Art and Design (Jakarta), Museum of Toys (Jakarta), and Zen1 Gallery (Denpasar).
Art Moments Jakarta collaborating with Zen1 Gallery and D Gallery held a joint tribute event for contemporary Balinese artist, I Made Wianta. This exhibition, which is being held at D Gallerie, only displays special works from the late I Made Wianta that have never been physically exhibited. The exhibition is titled “The Hidden Wild Triangle”. This offline event is divided into two sessions, the first session is on November 16-19, 2021 specifically dedicated to selected BCA customers and the second session is on November 20-30, 2021 for the public.
