CAMP BROADWAY INDONESIA PRESENTS MAINSTAGE JAKARTA 2024
Broadway Comes to Jakarta: Mainstage 2024 Ignites Youth Talent
Camp Broadway Indonesia (CBI) is once again set to dazzle Jakarta with its Mainstage Jakarta Summer Camp 2024, a premier event in the realm of youth theater education. Established through a collaboration between PT. Asa Pentas Mahakarya and PT. Indolima Perkasa, CBI holds the exclusive license from Camp Broadway New York (NY), offering training in singing, dancing, and acting for children aged 10-17. The mission of CBI is to foster self-confidence, hone skills, and discover the unique talents of each individual through theater.
Building on their past successes, including representing Indonesia at The New York Pops Birthday Gala in 2023 and 2024, as well as hosting the acclaimed Camp Broadway New York - Mainstage event in July 2023, CBI continues to shine. Last October, they added to their accolades by enriching the Indonesian Musical Festival. Now, CBI returns with the Mainstage Jakarta Summer Camp 2024, a six-day program emphasizing ensemble singing, acting, and dancing, essential elements of every Broadway production.
This year, Kristine Bendul, director and choreographer from Broadway, New York, returns for her second stint at the Mainstage Jakarta Summer Camp 2024. The program boasts 30 students, and in collaboration with PT Freeport Indonesia, CBI has granted scholarships to 10 students from the Taruna Papua Boarding School, aiming to nurture Papua's talent resources within the Mainstage program.
Joining forces with local pride, including Robertus Darren Radyan as the lead in Shrek, Ajeng Sharfina Adiwidya as Fiona, Bernice Nikki as vocal director, and Wishnu Dewanta with his orchestra, Wishnu Dewanta Orchestra, CBI promises an unforgettable experience. Over six intensive days at gripastudio, participants will master songs and scenes from the Broadway hit, Shrek Jr. The program culminates in a grand Finale Showcase at the prestigious Teater Salihara on June 29, 2024.
Supported by Deluce perfume and Jeeves, CBI envisions advancing arts education among Indonesian youth. "Camp Broadway Indonesia takes immense pride in adapting the renowned Camp Broadway New York - Mainstage program. Our hope is that this endeavor inspires young Indonesians to continue pursuing their artistic passions," expressed Adit Marciano, Artistic Director of Camp Broadway Indonesia.
