Bali Tops the List While Lombok Shines in CN Traveller’s 2024 Best Islands in Asia Rankings
Asia, known for its breathtaking natural beauty, is home to some of the world’s most stunning islands, drawing travelers from across the globe each year. Recently, Condé Nast Traveller released its prestigious list of the "10 Best Islands in the World," including a dedicated list of the top islands in Asia as part of the 2024 Reader’s Choice Awards.
The annual awards are based on responses from hundreds of thousands of readers who completed surveys from April to June 2024. Respondents rated destinations on a five-point scale, considering various factors such as beauty, accessibility, and cultural significance.
To the pride of Indonesians, Bali earned the highest ranking in Asia with an impressive score of 95.71, narrowly beating its competitors across the continent. Known as the "Island of a Thousand Temples," Bali has long been a magnet for tourists worldwide, not only for short-term vacations but also for extended stays. With its easy and affordable visa process, visitors are encouraged to immerse themselves in the island’s diverse offerings, from idyllic beaches and fresh seafood to majestic temples and historic landmarks.
"Bali continues to captivate visitors with its unique blend of natural and cultural attractions," says a local tourism official. "The island has something for everyone, from the spiritual to the scenic."
Adding to Bali’s accolades, Potato Head Village in Seminyak placed 21st among the world's top hotels, further solidifying the island’s international reputation.
In addition to Bali, Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara also earned a spot, ranking 10th with a score of 90.21. This marks a proud moment for Indonesia, having two islands recognized among the top 10 in Asia.
