Two Indonesian pop stars just showed up in a first-look photo for one of Amazon's biggest action franchises  sitting shoulder to shoulder, dead serious, playing the villains.

That's the short version of what happened this week. Agnez Mo and Anggun, both long-established names in Indonesian and international music, are joining Reacher Season 4 on Prime Video, and the internet noticed immediately.

What is Reacher Season 4 about?
Reacher follows Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher, the ex-military drifter who can't seem to avoid trouble. Season 4 adapts Gone Tomorrow, and this time the trouble has a family name: Hoth. Agnez Mo plays Lila Hoth, a mysterious woman searching for her biological father, while Anggun plays Amisha Hoth, Lila's mother, whose character is tied closely to a deadly conspiracy at the center of the season. The show returns for eight episodes starting August 12, 2026. 

Who are Agnez Mo and Anggun playing?

This isn't a cameo. Agnez Mo is expected to appear across the entire season and take part in several action sequences as Lila. Anggun's Amisha, meanwhile, is described as central to the story's family dynamic and its darker conspiracy thread. The first-look photos, posted on Instagram by the show's official account, lean into that tension — both women photographed with tight expressions and sharp, guarded stares, first in a dim room, then on a park bench. 

Casting rumors had been floating since production started in 2025, when footage of Agnez filming in Philadelphia went semi-viral back home. But this was the first official confirmation of what her role actually is.

Why is this such a big deal for Indonesian audiences?
Because it's rare. Indonesian musicians have crossed into Hollywood before, but landing a recurring antagonist role  not a music cameo, not a guest spot  in a flagship Amazon series is a different tier. Reactions online ranged from "prettiest villain ever" to straightforward pride: two homegrown singers, one frame, one of the platform's most-watched action shows.

For Agnez, it's also a return. She'd stepped back from acting to focus on music for years. In a since-viral Instagram post reflecting on the shoot, she said the experience reminded her why she fell for acting in the first place.

She also described a long road to the role  auditions, callbacks, and a screen test opposite Alan Ritchson  before landing Lila Hoth. 

What happens next?
No full trailer yet. Prime Video has only released stills so far, alongside images of Ritchson back as Reacher and supporting cast members Sydelle Noel as Tamara Green, Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette as Jacob Merrick, and Kevin Weisman as Russell Plum. Fans are pushing for a trailer, and with the season already renewed and Season 5 confirmed to be in production, Prime Video has no reason to slow down the rollout.
