2024 ATW Awards: Celebrating Excellence in Global Aviation

The 2024 Air Transport World (ATW) Airline Industry Achievement Awards celebrated the best of the best in the aviation industry, recognizing airlines for their outstanding contributions across various categories.

Singapore Airlines Group soared high, bagging two coveted awards. Goh Choon Phong, CEO of SIA, received the Excellence in Leadership Award, acknowledging his exceptional leadership in steering the Group through the pandemic and towards renewed growth. Furthermore, Scoot, their budget airline, took home the Value Airline of the Year award, solidifying their commitment to providing quality and affordability to passengers.

Delta Takes Top Honors

Delta Air Lines was crowned the prestigious Airline of the Year by ATW in the 50th annual awards, recognizing their exceptional performance in 2023. This accolade highlights their record revenue, leading on-time performance, and continued strong growth across various markets.

Beyond the Award

Delta's commitment to its employees and customer experience shines through their profit-sharing program, fast and free Wi-Fi, and personalized travel journey initiatives. Additionally, their focus on sustainability aligns with the industry's push for cleaner alternatives.

Celebrating Individual Contributions

ATW also presented awards to two individuals who have significantly impacted air transport:

  • Doug Parker, former CEO of American Airlines, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the industry, including overseeing major airline mergers.
  • Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines, was recognized for his Excellence in Leadership in navigating the pandemic, maintaining world-class service standards, and expanding their presence in the Indian market.

Other 2024 ATW Award Winners

  • International Airlines Group (IAG): Eco-Airline of the Year for its commitment to sustainability initiatives.
  • United Airlines: Humanitarian Force for Good for their extensive humanitarian and charitable endeavors.
  • Azul: Airline Market Leader for becoming the largest airline in Brazil and South America.
  • Air Canada Cargo: Cargo Operator of the Year for their customer-centric digital transformation efforts.
