YEJI LANDS IN JAKARTA FOR ROGER VIVIER'S BIG OPENING
YEJI is heading to Jakarta as Roger Vivier's Global Brand Ambassador for the brand's Plaza Indonesia boutique opening on 24 September 2026.
A French heel house founded in 1937 doesn't usually need a K-pop member to get people's attention. Roger Vivier just got one anyway.
What is happening with YEJI and Roger Vivier in Jakarta?
Roger Vivier, the French luxury shoe and accessories house, confirmed that YEJI its Global Brand Ambassador and a member of the K-pop group ITZY was spotted leaving Seoul for Jakarta ahead of the brand's new boutique opening at Plaza Indonesia on 24 September 2026. The event marks Roger Vivier's return to the Indonesian retail market, run locally in partnership with Kanmo Group, an ISO-27001 certified retail operator that has run stores in Indonesia since 2005.
The timing isn't random. Roger Vivier left the Indonesian market at some point and is now re-entering it and doing so with a global ambassador in tow instead of a quiet ribbon-cutting. That's the part worth noticing: brands don't fly K-pop idols in for soft relaunches.
Two products are getting the spotlight at the opening: the Viv' Rangers Loafers in leather, and the Pilgrim Micro Bag in leather. Both sit under the creative direction of Gherardo Felloni, the Italian designer who has led Roger Vivier's collections since 2018, expanding the house beyond shoes into bags, jewellery, hats, and waistcoats.
The house itself traces back to Monsieur Roger Vivier, who opened his first boutique in Paris and went on to design for Josephine Baker, Marlene Dietrich, Catherine Deneuve, Brigitte Bardot, and Queen Elizabeth II. Under Felloni, the client list has shifted generations — Isabelle Huppert, Michelle Yeoh, Eva Green, Hunter Schafer, and Selena Gomez have all worn his designs.

Why YEJI, specifically?
ITZY debuted under JYP Entertainment and built a following on sharp, confident styling which lines up with how luxury brands are increasingly picking ambassadors in Southeast Asia: not for reach alone, but for a specific aesthetic match. Jakarta's Plaza Indonesia is also a deliberate choice of venue it's one of the city's established luxury retail addresses, not a mall opening for the sake of foot traffic.

How much do the featured pieces cost?
The release doesn't list prices for the Viv' Rangers Loafers or the Pilgrim Micro Bag. Roger Vivier's leather loafers and micro bags have historically sat in the mid-to-upper four figures (USD) at international boutiques, but Jakarta pricing should be confirmed directly with the Plaza Indonesia store once it opens.
This is a market re-entry dressed up as a fan moment and it's a formula more heritage brands are borrowing.
