During "The Weekly Brief With Sandi Uno" at Gedung Sapta Pesona, Central Jakarta, on Monday, July 31, 2023, Menparekraf/Baparekraf Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno enthusiastically announced that Standupfest, set to take place at Tennis Indoor Senayan from August 4th to 6th, 2023, will become the country's largest stand-up comedy festival, showcasing some of the leading comedians in the nation.

"This momentous event is organized by Stand Up Comedy Indo, which boasts over 3,000 members spread across 167 branches throughout the nation," revealed Sandiaga.

He highlighted that Standupfest will provide a much-needed form of entertainment for those who crave comedic content, with a stellar lineup of 164 comedians set to perform at the festival.

"The essence of human personality reaches its pinnacle when one can laugh at oneself, especially when humor becomes the source of creative comedy," he added.

Deputy Marketing of Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, further emphasized that the festival will serve as a valuable platform for comedians to showcase the immense potential of Indonesia's creative economy. "This festival opens doors for us to explore and promote the captivating creative economy opportunities in diverse regions," Made explained.

Meanwhile, the President of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia, Abdul Aziz Batubara, popularly known as Adjis Doaibu, proudly revealed that all 3,100 festival tickets have been sold out.

"All the tickets have been sold out, Sir," Adjis shared.

Adjis is optimistic that this grand event will serve as a testament to the public that stand-up comedy can indeed pave the way to a promising and rewarding profession. "This is proof that making people laugh on stage can also become a fulfilling profession," he added.
