Jakarta just got hit with a punk rock earthquake. On Saturday, February 15, 29 years after their lat concert in Indonesia, Green Day took over Carnaval Ancol, delivering a high-energy, no-holds-barred performance that left tens of thousands of fans screaming for more. With Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass, vocals), and Tré Cool (drums) at full throttle, the legendary trio reminded everyone why they are still at the top of their game after more than three decades.

Opening With a Statement
Right on schedule at 20:00 WIB, Green Day exploded onto the stage with "The American Dream Is Killing Me," a hard-hitting anthem from their 2024 album Saviors. From the first chord, the crowd was on their feet, and Billie Joe made it clear—this was no time for distractions.

"Save your phone, no need to record, it's not needed right now," he told the audience.

Instead, he demanded full participation:

"I want everyone to sing, jump—everyone, from the front to the back!"

Jakarta answered with deafening screams.

A Setlist Packed With Green Day’s Greatest Hits
For 105 minutes, Green Day powered through a 23-song setlist spanning their entire career. The band pulled deep cuts from Dookie (1994) like "Welcome to Paradise," "Longview," "Basket Case," and "She," reminding fans why that album helped define ‘90s punk.

But nothing could top the American Idiot (2004) takeover. The moment "American Idiot," "Holiday," and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" hit, the crowd turned into a massive choir. Fans jumped, shouted, and threw their hands in the air, lost in the music. Other standouts included "Wake Me Up When September Ends," "Jesus of Suburbia," and "21 Guns," each track a powerful reminder of Green Day’s impact on multiple generations.

Pure Green Day Energy
Despite decades on the road, Green Day performed with the same wild energy and raw passion that made them icons. Billie Joe commanded the stage with his signature mix of punk attitude and crowd connection, Mike Dirnt kept the basslines thumping with unstoppable intensity, and Tré Cool’s drumming was as unpredictable and explosive as ever.

The band’s chemistry was undeniable—tight, electric, and completely in sync. Every riff, every drumbeat, every shout was a testament to why Green Day is still one of the best live bands in the world.

Jakarta Witnessed a Punk Rock Masterclass
For thousands of fans, Green Day Live in Jakarta wasn’t just a concert—it was an experience. A celebration of rebellion, nostalgia, and everything punk rock stands for. Whether they were longtime followers or new fans, everyone left Carnaval Ancol with the same realization: Green Day is unstoppable.

Even after three decades, they’re still proving that punk rock isn’t dead—it’s louder than ever.
