One of the biggest esports tournaments in Indonesia, MPL ID, has partnered up with Cinepolis Cinemas Indonesia to set forth the first-ever esports competition in cinemas.

Cinepolis is one of the leading world-class cinema exhibitors, the fourth-largest theater chain in the world, and accounts for the second-largest number of screens worldwide.

The partnership will bring Season 9 MPL ID on the big screens and fans interested in the Mobile Legends esports tournament may purchase tickets as an alternative to the regular tournament which is currently closed to the public.

Cinepolis to implement strict health protocols
Preparing for the showing event, Cinepolis will implement strict health protocols in accordance with regulations made by the local government and set to regularly use disinfectants in each cinema to prevent a further surge of COVID-19 cases. 

“As fellow esports supporters in Indonesia, we must take care of each other by implementing health protocols in the Cinepolis area. In addition, we also strictly enforce health protocols in accordance with local government regulations and we regularly disinfect our cinemas,” Cinepolis Cinemas’ brand marketing and guest service manager Indriana Listia Rahmawati said translated.

Tickets will be available for purchase on Tiket.com, Cinepolis’ official website, and other providers such as Gotix, Tix ID, or at Cinepolis’ ticket counter on each cinema.

Tickets are available from February 19, until the tournament ends on April 10. Furthermore, the upcoming main event is set to begin with Regular Season Match 1 (OURA vs ONIC) and Match 2 (AE vs RBL) on February 25.

On the next day, six teams has been scheduled to play. In Regular Season Match 1 (BTR vs AURA), Match 2 (GEEK vs EVOS), and Match 3 (ONIC vs RRQ) prior to the tournament's five days short-break until another match scheduled on March 4-5.

However, before purchasing any tickets, fans must keep in mind that the organizer has prepared different ticketing categories. A single MPL match costs Rp40.000, and One Day Pass is further separated into two, one of which is bundled with food and beverages.

Indriana added that currently there are 18 Cinepolis cinemas in 14 cities throughout Indonesia where fans can turn to watch Season 9 MPL ID.

On the other hand, online ticket providers welcome the partnership between MPL ID and Cinepolis.
