After a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Bali Fashion Trend 2023 made a grand return, featuring around 320 designs by local fashion designers. Held from August 3 to 6, 2023, at Discovery Mall Bali in Kuta, the event brought together 40 fashion designers, each showcasing eight of their creations.

Dwi Iskandar, Chairperson of the Bali Fashion Trend 2023 committee, expressed his pride in the event's revival after its last edition in 2019. "This year’s Bali Fashion Trend marks a significant comeback after the pandemic. We are very proud to bring together around 40 brands or designers from all over Indonesia," Dwi said during a statement in Badung Regency on Saturday.

The participating designers hailed from various regions in Indonesia, with 12 from Bali and others from Makassar, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, and West Nusa Tenggara. This year’s fashion trend emphasizes comfort and ease, featuring loose, home-style clothing with a fashionable twist.

"This year’s trend highlights relaxed, comfortable clothing—nothing too tight, but more homey styles packaged fashionably," Dwi explained.

The event aims to provide an opportunity for designers to attract both domestic and international buyers, with no limits placed on their creativity. Bali Fashion Trend is designed to give these designers a platform to express themselves freely and showcase their talent.

In addition to benefiting fashion designers, the event also supports related small and medium enterprises (SMEs), including those in Bali’s tourism sector. With the theme of "Revival," the organizers hope that the return of Bali Fashion Trend will symbolize the resurgence of various industries.

Bali Fashion Trend 2023 is held in collaboration with Discovery Fashion Week, which adopts the theme "Fashion Voyage." This theme is inspired by the journey of fashion industry players, including local Bali brands, national designers, and retail brands from Discovery Mall itself.

Through this event, organizers hope to further boost Bali’s fashion and tourism industries, creating a positive impact for all involved.
