Korean pop sensation TWICE has secured their spot in music history, achieving their first No. 1 album on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart. Their latest album, "With YOU-th," debuted triumphantly atop the tally dated March 9, 2024, earning an impressive 95,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the week ending February 29, according to data from Luminate. The majority of these units were generated from traditional album sales.

This milestone marks TWICE's fifth top 10 entry on the Billboard 200, all achieved consecutively. "With YOU-th" not only signifies a significant achievement for TWICE but also highlights the growing influence of Korean pop music on the global stage.

In a remarkable trend, "With YOU-th" becomes the third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 by an all-female group in less than three years. Preceding TWICE, NewJeans claimed the top spot with their 2nd EP 'Get Up' in August 2023, followed by BLACKPINK's "Born Pink" in October 2022. All three acts are Korean pop groups, and their respective albums marked their first No. 1s, debuting at the pinnacle of the chart.

Adding to the celebration of female empowerment in music, the all-female Korean pop group LE SSERAFIM also made waves on the Billboard 200, debuting at No. 8 with their album "Easy," marking their second top 10-charting effort.

"With YOU-th" and "Easy" sharing space in the top 10 marks a historic moment as it's the first time two all-female Korean pop groups have simultaneously occupied the chart's upper echelons. This achievement underscores the increasing diversity and global appeal of music.

TWICE's "With YOU-th" saw remarkable success across various metrics. Of the 95,000 units earned, a staggering 90,000 were from album sales, making it the top-selling album of the week and boasting the largest sales week for an album in 2024. Streaming equivalent album (SEA) units comprised 4,500, while track equivalent album (TEA) units contributed 500 to the total count.

Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM's "Easy" debuted with 41,000 equivalent album units, with album sales accounting for a significant portion of the total. The album's availability across various formats and exclusive deals contributed to its strong sales performance.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States based on multi-metric consumption, including album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new chart reflects the dynamic landscape of the music industry and celebrates the diverse talents shaping its future.

As TWICE celebrates their historic achievement and LE SSERAFIM joins them in the spotlight, the music world eagerly anticipates what new milestones await these trailblazing acts.
