THREE DESIGNERS, THREE CITIES, ONE QUIET REBELLION: INSIDE IFC'S "QUIET DEFIANCE" AT BRI JF3 FASHION FESTIVAL 2026
IFC brings "Quiet Defiance" to BRI JF3 Fashion Festival 2026 three designers, three cities, one theme of quiet resilience through craft.
Batik dots meet 3D printing, gender-fluid tailoring meets made-to-order, and hand embroidery becomes an act of resistance on one stage, in one afternoon.
A single pattern of Batik Nitik is made from thousands of hand-stamped dots. No shortcuts, no rushing. That patience is exactly what the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) is putting on a runway this month, next to laser cutting and 3D printing proof that heritage and technology aren't opposites.
Quiet Defiance is the theme IFC has chosen for its special presentation at BRI JF3 Fashion Festival 2026, happening 23–29 July 2026 at Summarecon Mall Kelapa Gading, Jakarta. On 23 July, from 2:30–4:00 PM WIB, three IFC member designers Opie Ovie (Jakarta), Weda Githa of XANDER.G (Denpasar), and Riri Rengganis (Bandung) will show collections at the Fashion Tent, each one interpreting resilience without shouting about it.

What Is IFC's "Quiet Defiance" Presentation?
Quiet Defiance isn't a protest with a megaphone. It's the decision to keep making things by hand, keep showing up as yourself, and keep working carefully even when trends move faster than craft can. IFC National Chair Lenny Agustin frames the collaboration with BRI JF3 as central to that mission.
"With a strong alignment in our vision and mission to advance Indonesia's fashion industry, IFC is proud to once again take part in BRI JF3 Fashion Festival. This collaboration reinforces BRI JF3 Fashion Festival's important role as a strategic platform for showcasing the latest creative achievements of Indonesia's fashion industry." Who Are the Three Designers, and What Are They Showing?
Opie Ovie brings Noblelitique, built around Batik Nitik's dot-based geometry, reworked through laser cutting, 3D printing, and sequin embroidery. Oversized silhouettes, high collars, and a black-white-denim-ivory palette keep it wearable off the runway, not just on it.
Weda Githa, creative director of XANDER.G, presents Aeris Solenne Vol.2, the label's Spring/Summer 2027 line. Twenty looks in wool, denim, and linen blur gender lines through soft drapery paired with sharp tailoring and every piece is made-to-order, not mass-produced.
Riri Rengganis shows Midnight Garden, where her signature florals turn into wilted petals, falling leaves, and buds still blooming in the dark a metaphor for exhaustion and renewal. The collection mixes batik, lurik, and endek with dense hand embroidery in earthy tones, and gets a live moment from singer Rahma Savitri during the segment.
